The last i read this article HERE where Porsche R&D boss said that their Cayenne is already doing 300 km/h & if Bentley wants to beat them by 1 km/h only so be it.

As new Cayenne will arrive in 2017 it will be faster than the Bentayga for sure

Agree with you on that!
The whole Bentley SUV from being concept to a production model was very underwhelming to me. They could've done a much better job.I personally disagree with the SUV direction Bentley has taken, but they cannot ignore the profit monsters. They are going to have a long order book for sure.

They have been making really good cars for the past 15 odd years with the Continental series and the Mulsanne . Even making beautiful concepts like the Speed 6. From just a luxury product to a wider luxury , sports car niche products.

They really do scream fake, don't they! Maybe the colour is photoshopped too. I guess there's a choice.

What worries me the most is putting the fuel filler cap next to the gear shift...

The looks however... Are those body coloured headlamp washers in the secondary headlights? Imagine those in colours like blues or greens! What were they thinking?

Why do car manufacturers in the luxury market throng to make SUVs?

The Bentayga which costs upwards of £160k is sold out for first year of production. And reports suggests Bentley can make between 3000-4500 units per year. Too bad it looks so awful.

The Queen of England is getting the first Bentley Bentayga to roll of the line.

British luxury carmaker Bentley's first-ever SUV, the Bentayga, was recently unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Claimed to be the most expensive SUV in the world, the ultra-luxury SUV's first buyer will be Queen Elizabeth. Michael Winkler, CEO, Bentley told the Telegraph, "We have reserved the number one car for her."
It is said the Queen of England, who test drove the Bentayga's prototype a few weeks ago, will use the SUV on her property in Scotland for hunting jaunts.

Bentley Bentayga will be getting a Diesel Electric Turbo Engine

Bentley will borrow the technology from sister company Audi which will debut the technology on the high-performance SQ7 launching sometime next year

The entire premise behind electric turbochargers is that they completely eliminate lag to dramatically improve throttle response. This is achieved through the use of an electric motor which spins up the turbo before the hot exhaust gases are funnelled into it. This basically means the turbo is always spooled up.

Bentley Bentayga First Edition revealed

The very first production Bentley Bentayga has already been spoken for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, but the Crewe based carmaker will turn the next 608 units into First Edition specials.

Bentley showed the new Bentayga First Edition to a “select group of VIP customers” at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles.

What separates the First Edition from the regular Bentaygas that will follow are some unique design cues on the outside, including Union Jack badging, illuminated tread plates and 22-inch black painted and polished wheels. Only ten exterior colors will be on offer.

Inside, the limited production model features ‘Diamond within Diamond’ quilted seats and door panels, bespoke ambient lighting, Union Jack fascia badging, bespoke contrast stitching and embroidered seats. Also according to Bentley, “the detailing in metal, wood and leather – including meticulous tolerances between elements of trim – sets a new standard in automotive design”.

And just to seal the deal, Bentley is throwing in a unique Breitling watch, available in three different versions with signature features: the “Emergency” that gets integrated dual frequency personal locator beacon, the “Cockpit B50 “ with an electronic multifunction caliber, and the automatic “Chronomat 38” designed for women.

Bentley said that these chronographs will be optionally available for Bentayga customers later on.
