I can see hyundai theme, especially santafe written all over it.

+1. The car looks similar to the Santa Fe from the rear 3-quarters. The front quarter glass is very much present but it seems smaller.

Things that got my attention-Front and rear discs, 5 bolt alloys and the massive C-pillar! Guess the rear seats would be roomy with lots of space to stretch one's legs.

I can see Swift-like C-pillars. Interiors look like one from an old generation though.

Thanks for the interior pictures. The interiors don't look from the old generation but more on the lines of the new swift. The steering is a clear lift of the swift and so are the AC vents. The silver on the door is a Swift look alike. Looks like the new theme is Swift for the SX4 as well.

Exactly. Suzuki may want to cash-in on the popularity of Swift. See the window lines - clearly Swiftish.

If this report is to be believed, Maruti may launch a new SX4 the soonest!!!

In fact, I am in discussion with Acer (Maruti Dealer) to book an SX4 diesel and seen this news in net just now!

Thought of sharing it.....

Mid life facelift? You gotta be kidding me. This is more like an "after-life" upgrade.

Rather than bringing any newer models, MUL is better of getting their house and produciton in order to remove delays for the models that do "SELL".

Thats exactly my thought. Looks like you took words out of my mouth

. Instead of all this stuff maruti should better concentrate on shifting the production of its bestseller diesel cars (swift and dzire) to the gurgaon plant.
Anyways if the news is to be believed, I still doubt the success of SX4 due to better alternatives in that price range like the honda city which is surely a better pick than the SX4 (just my point of thinking).

Instead of a facelift, MSIL should look at a completely new car. The current car is quite old and is almost becoming a non-seller,atleast in the petrol version.

With the launch of Fluidic Verna/City in petrol and not to mention the Volkswagen sisters Rapid/Vento in the diesel segment, the competition has moved much ahead.
Its high time that something new,fresh and a promising product was launched to fight with these formidable rivals.

With Duster getting so many bookings, SX4 in its hatch form factor and with good diesel engine could also benefit.
But Maruti will be careful so as not to upset the Ertiga sales.

Since this version of SX4 is predicted to be based on the Kizashi platform, a sedan based on this SX4 is unlikely, IMO. Because that sedan will in turn be Kizashi!

So, a bigger version of DZire will replace the SX4 sedan, IMO.

Also heard that the next generation Grand Vitara will be based on Kizashi platform.

From what I hear from some friends in Suppliers of Maruti, this vehicle is actually making an entry into India as a premium"ish" SUV..May be a step over the Ertiga..The silhouette screams 5 seater to me...A 5 seater more expensive than Ertiga with a Suzuki badge...Hmm..people in India would have probably lapped it up were it be an European maker (even cheap ones like Renault / Dacia!!)..But for a Suzuki, best to wait and watch...I just hope that they do not plan gasoline versions for this model..
