What was the percentage increase between the older and new C class, the same will be in this too. Precisely the reason it is not selling. I see only 3 series on road, which was a late bloomer again because they started giving major discounts only then it started selling. A friend bought Luxury version for a less as 41.5L OTR in Bangalore in December which was 7.5L cheaper than the C (after discounts). The same will happen with the E class too.

Ofcourse it sucks for S class owners to have a 1/2 price and 1/3rd price copies. However the design suits the dimensions of the E class the best. Also thank you Merc for not keeping the floating screen in this car. I think the car has more than enough to persuade C buyers to go for it.

And good news for Merc fans in Delhi. The new OM 654 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine with an aluminum block comes across as a very good unit. Trumps the older 2.1 on NVH which was the main issue reported on the new C class.

Checked out the 2017 E Class W213 at Ulm, Germany over the summer while I was there for a business trip. Looks a stunner and should be a fabulous product overall. A mini W222 S Class.

The India launch of the new E Class should be between February-March 2017. Three engines coming up, E200, E220d and E350d. Initial lot of cars will be CBU Launch Editions followed by standard CKD's later. Pricing of the new E Class would be between 60-75L.

Meanwhile, Eastern India's first W213 E Class Launch Edition has already been booked for someone at Team-Bhp.

I just don't like this grill. I just hope they give the 'original grill' at least as an option.

Highly doubt that coming in. The Luxury style grill is left out for the S Class only now in India.
However abroad, Mercedes does sell a luxury/sport grill option for the E and the C.

563 hp, 553 lb-ft torque, Nine-speed sport transmission, 0 to 60 - 3.4s, 155 MPH top speed, AMG-dialed all-wheel drive for the E63.
603 hp, 627 lb-ft torque, Nine-speed sport transmission, 0 to 60 - 3.3s, 186 MPH top speed, AMG-dialed all-wheel drive with Drift Mode and Race Mode for the E63 S.
The wheels are 9.5 inches wide in the front, 10 inches in the back and 19 inches tall.
The E63 has a mechanical rear differential lock and the E63 S has an electronic one.

Mercedes Benz stepping up the Super Saloon game with the much awaited launch of the Mercedes AMG E63s W213 at the LA Auto Show today.

4.0L BiTurbo V8
603 BHP
850 NM of Torque
0-100km/h: 3.4 seconds

Added bonus is the Race mode button which switches the car to a RWD from the 4Matic mode for some sideways action.

The sales of the Mercedes AMG E63 will begin with the Edition 1 variant. The Edition 1 features a special Designo Night Black Magno paint with 20" Matt Black Wheels and a gloss black night package. The interiors of the Edition 1 E63 will have AMG Performance seats wrapped in black nappa leather with yellow stitching. Carbon fiber trims and Edition 1 badging would be the added bonus for this limited edition lot.

Sales of the W213 E63 in India should begin sometime next year in July-August once the standard W213 E Class launched in February. Pricing should be roughly around 1.8-2 crores.
