2017 Punto spied again, Spotted on a trailer in United States, the prototype was heavily masked .

The styling should be heavily influenced by the attractive Tipo sedan and there are some reports indicating Fiat has plans on selling the new Punto only with a five-door layout. That being said, there could be a four-door sedan variant for select markets where it will act as a replacement for the Linea

Sad to see the beautiful near monobox design gone.

Had been a fan of the design ever since my hunkered down Punto in NFS Most Wanted.

The earlier design still makes me smile when the car passes by me in the road.

Lets wait and see if the upcoming car looks better than the over Chrome garnished monstrosity they call Punto here in India these days.

For sure Fiat Indias strategy will be not to bring it unless they raise it on a pair of stilts and make it "Indianized".

I was referring to the spy photos shared by Volkman. Not the render. It was showing a distinct two box shape. I was a bit late to register by sadness in this forum. Sorry if my statement was misleading.

Is this the car that they've been running under wrap for about 6 months now? Since this car is officially called the 2017 Punto I'm guessing that this is the next-generation Punto. If so I'm glad to see that Fiat's design update policy is the same globally vis-à-vis India.

Not to take anything away from this car, this particular facelift is the most good-looking version of Punto both externally and internally, however this design is the exact same as the 2012 update in Europe called Punto Evo (not to be confused with the Indian Punto Evo which has different headlamps compared to its global version). If that's all they've done, why even bother to disguise it is my question, since literally every body panel is the same with exception to both the bumpers. Maybe Fiat Brazil gets the Evo update while a new generation debuts in Turkey? But why would they do that when Brazil is one of their bigger markets.

No, it cannot be. This version released now is a facelift at max and should be the swan song of the current generation.

The spy shots show a different car. The placement of the ORVM is the biggest clue.

No - the car on test is Project X6H - which is the next Gen Punto/ Palio. Not disclosed yet by Fiat.
A derivative of this will be the next Gen Linea - Project X6S
