Maddy, I was able to test the autopilot feature on Black Friday, driving to CT from NJ. It was a perfect day with lots of traffic to test the Autopilot mode. In the pics, steering wheel is de-activated (Should be blue if auto-steer is activated). Looks like Auto-steer activates and deactivates depending on Tesla's mood Maybe bcos its a Beta. The cruise control worked pretty well except one time when a pickup truck randomly changed lanes and came right in front of me. The car was still cruising without braking getting too close to the truck prompting me to takeover. Its not conclusive unless the Auto-steer activates/works! I'll keep updating stuff about Tesla.

Very nice - what a car to buy during Thanksgiving!
I'd just get kicks telling everybody I got it for 50% off-sticker.

I love the color!

Would love to read a full write up on the car.

Thanks aah78! I'll do a full write up in coming weeks. Still in the process of buying accessories and winter tires.

That's an awesome piece of machinery!! Many congratulations!
And yes, the blue looks very fetching on the car.
What was that about getting 50% off the sticker price that aah78 mentioned? Do tell.

The 2 most important options for me were "Sport Chrono Package and Sports exhaust system" and this one has both of them. Congrats Viper. She's a beauty, alright. Lots of awesome times ahead, I see.

I somehow managed to escape that madness by buying a blu ray player, just to scratch the itch.

Re: Buying, Owning, Driving and Maintaining a car in North America

Hi guys,

This is my first post in this thread and I would like to give an introduction. I am in the 9th grade. I used to live in Troy, MI. I moved back to India with my mom while my dad is working back in the US. Our current car is a 2014 Chrysler 300S which we got as a 2 year lease.

This is the only pic I have the car on my iPad. Will try getting some more.

Thanks amitoj! If there was 50% off as aah78 said, GTS 4 with Orange/Black wheels would have been added to the cart as well

Thanks Technocrat! This blue is growing on me. I was actually looking at the Navy blue earlier but then it would be just a regular color.

Btw, any recommendations for in-car camera for security reasons!

Re: Buying, Owning, Driving and Maintaining a car in North America

Price details of a recent Honda CRV purchase (helped a friend who bought it) - Hoping it should be useful to some one

Car - 2016 Honda CRV Ex-L Sunset orange with all black interiors
Location - Tampa - Brandon - Clearwater Area, Florida
Final price - USD 28300 OTD
Loan at 120% amount from DCU 5 years - 1.74% with a salary account

We started negotiating from last month and took delivery on Black Friday

Initially no dealer was willing to give anything less than 29000. Pushed so much and finally got one dealer to accept $29000 and $500 Visa prepaid card. But since we delayed by one day during booking they backed out on the visa gift card and we also backed out.

Brandon Honda's internet sales team finished with a deal for 28500 on Blackfriday late evening and we were hell bent on 28000. He left us and said 28500 is his final. We decide to wait till 30th Nov and started to walk off and finally a new guy stepped in and he spoke to all his managers and finally came down to 28300/-.We accepted as it was a decent deal plus DCU was having offer for 120% finance and friend was in need of money. One month ago we couldnt have got it for even 29000 OTD.

That's a great deal you got.
Are you saying the DCU gave your friend 20% as personal loan at rate of 1.74%. If it is true it is awesome.

Yes it is. He got around 3000 credited to his savings account on the same day and remaining was sent as a check to the dealer.

Another useful car buying resource.

http://bringatrailer.com/

This website has a lot of affordable beauties and classics for sale. More than the listings, the comments on the bottom of each listing is very informative. The commenters explains what the strenghths and weaknesses of each car and the issues with the listings.

Now why will a Bank give 120 % loan ? to spend balance on Vacation or Fuel for couple of months ?
