2011 Hyundai i20 Asta. EDIT: 62000 km up & EPS module changed twice

If your car has Automatic Climate Control (ACC) then you may find similar sensor somewhere else as well (may be near the rear parcel tray (like in the Baleno Vxi). I think it is the in-cabin temperature sensor for the ACC.

Rain sensor is usually mounted near the Windshield IRVM and works by IR-light sensor.

but like rohin said, it could be the Rain sensor available in European models - just that it is not connected

in the Indian models.

Were you parked in front of Glix in one of the pics?

Yup!! My car has ACC. It could also be the rain sensors which dont work. :(
P.S: Nope the car was not parked in front of GLIX.

Probably. Will get it clarified during the first service.

There is something that is bothering me very very very much. The AC vents are getting heated up quite often. I do not understand the problem. While driving my left hand can feel the heat.

P.S: This happens when I drive without the A.C

When your AC is off, do you switch on the blower? If yes, maybe that is the cause. But you should still get it checked.

No i dont. It is only the Music System. I am worried.

Pancham the little round thing on the dash board is the light intensity sensor which is used along with the ACC to maintain the temperature uniformly all over the cabin. The actual temperature sensor is below the blower speed adjustment knob.you can see some slots over there.

As for vent heating problem i think you have kept the temperature on the higher side.try keeping it to lowest and drive without AC .if it still exists then the blower motor may be overheating.

Thanks a lot sagar. I had kept the temp at around 22.5 C. Is it that high? Anyway I will try out your advice and hope for the best.

Guys my car has its first service tomorrow. Anything that I have to do or get it done at the service center?? Please come forward and throw in your advice and experiences about your 1st service.

1st service is just a regular wash. So nothing much to bother here.

Very good choice. Ask for the service advisor called Debnath (that his surname) there. He's the most senior of the advisors. Take my name and tell him you're my reference. Guaranteed, you'll get good service.

Pancham, get the autolocking facility enabled, for doors when the speedo touches 40 kmph. Also, get your bluetooth thing corrected, as i remember you had some problem with it.

I also did the 3M anti-rust coating done for my Asta which costed 2.8k with 5 yrs warranty. Since you are in calcutta, being a coastal area, it would be worth doing IMO.

I got the auto locking facility activated during delivery. So will get the bluetooth issue get fixed.

Also, they may try to pull a fast one on you by charging you 250 bucks for something called 'Hi-Scanning'. They do the auto-lock thing by using the OBD port and it's a 5 min job. Do not pay anything extra for this as the scanning charges are to be levied when your engine is tuned or some major ECU activity is undertaken.

Got the 1st Service done.

1) Bluetooth problem has been rectified.

2) There was a sound coming out of the brakes. Not always but sometimes. They opened all the wheels and got the brakes cleaned.

3) Under body anti rust coating done.

4) Free touch ups all over

5) All other general check ups.

Special thanks to Predatorwheels for helping me out on quite a few things.

I got it done for Rs. 1655. Complete under body coating with 5 years warranty.

Overall the experience was pretty good.
