Re: Mahindra XUV 500 - Moondust Silver - Loaded with chrome - first in Delhi

Changed tyres to Bridgestone 265/ 65/ R17 , which are stock tyres on Fortuner. Cost 51k. Ride quality is much better, so is GC. The SUV looks more butch in character. This was a good advice by multi brand tyre stockist and I had an option between Bridgestone and Yokohama Geolander. I chose former for stronger side walls . Tyres are now good for at least another 50k kms / 3 yrs.

Next want bulb upgrades, front grill change to chrome. Watch out ...

The stock tyres on the Fortuner are Dunlops not bridgestones. But the tyre size is that of the Fortuner.
Didn't you get Michelin lattitude in this size ?

On the day of launch in Delhi, seeing a grey W6 on display at one showroom, considering the mass of overexcited crowd spilling over the showroom, in the anticipation of long booking Q, I booked a W8 in black color at Sri Durga Auto in Prashant Vihar

But how I gravitated to Silver W6 from Black W8 is an interesting story
Hi Pankaj.. When you bought your set of rims, did you buy a set of 4 or 5?

Little confused here bro. Since its still 65, how can it improve GC? Yes the width (265) does add appeal to the looks of XUV but 65 would not raise GC as already the stock tires are same. Please post some pics.

Nitin, 65 is not the height of the sidewall directly. 65 is actually %age of the width of the tyre. So if you move from 235 to 265 width tyres, for the same 65%, you would have a bigger sidewall on the 265/65 tyres

Oh. Thanks sanjay for clarifying.

Pankaj I hope you are aware of the speed alloys story going around these days since you too have those.

Yes bro , hope mine last long enough .. though iam seriously thinking of getting them changed now.. should i try with Mahindra to replace these ones ..

Also here is the bill for 60 k service done in Nov 14, now thinking of skipping the 70k service since there is no consumable to be changed and dealership is asking for 3000 as labour charges (for what ? they have not been able to reply)

Re: Mahindra XUV 500 - Moondust Silver - Loaded with chrome - first in Delhi

M&M Service centers are a rip-off when it comes to labour charges.

Just checked your 60K Kms service bill.
Wiper blade change labour ..150 Rs? Wow!
After charging 2500Rs for labour for the service, they are again charging another 1425 odd Rs under Misc labour.

In all, almost 5000Rs in labour for what is most likely 3-4 hrs of actual work. Daylight robbery!

PS: What are the parts from #20 to #24?

Can you please let me know how the 265 tyres are coming along now and what's your feed back on them as compared to 235 as i believe you still have them on your XUV now. Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi Sridhar, I would say it was the best decision to go for 265. They have held ground for long. Though the vehicle is used by my relatives, however they haven’t changed them yet, nor have complained and have driven a lot including trips to hills.
