Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Got the puddle lights installed and the LED lights in the boot. With increased travel at night and to the forests meant I need this additional lights when getting out of the car.

PS: Kindly excuse the picture quality, they were shot with mobile in low light conditions

Puddle lights

LED Lights in the boot

Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed-boot-lamp.jpg

Got the dash-cam hardwired too with a dedicated cigarette lighter Port and Charger. Puddle lamps, LED boot light and dash cam hard wiring with charger point and charger cost me 3,300 bucks in total.

Mileage Update

Another 780 kms to go to complete 10,000 kms post remap.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Hi,

Well kept car that! Also thanks for an insightful thread !

Those are some good lights. Did the ECU throw up any errors ?

If possible I need to know where I can get them done because my Linea's boot light went kaput & the Fiat ASC wants me to change the setup for ~3500.

P.S. : Also wanted to upgrade the headlights, any suggestions on that would be great because I guess many suggest a relay kit. (Alternatively I'm also considering an LED bar, but that could look tacky & guess it'd be overkill).

I've even recently up'd the Battery to a 60 DIN unit as a precaution.

Thank you and glad that the documentation is of help.

No, this is independent of the BCM. So no error lights throw up for the door lights. These lights are wired up to the Door sensor/interior lights.

The switch/sensor is located in the boot lock. Its the same with both Punto and Linea. Even Crazy Driver's Punto is having the same issue. Alternate solution is to bypass the boot switch and install a LED light. I will PM you the details along my phone number.

I am running my car with the relay kit for about 2+ years now. One fused bulb apart from that no other issues. Works as expected. You can as well install the relay kit and save some money. LED bar would surely look tacky. Even the stock battery would be OK, but 60 DIN does no harm.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Over the past month or so it was pretty hectic with the work at office. Had no time to clean the car and it had become pretty dirty. Cleaned the car exteriors using a rinse-less wash and diluted APC to clean the interiors.

Few exterior pics (kindly excuse me for mobile quality pics). Interiors need a bit of dressing and will post those pics in a day or two.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Linea has now crossed 4 years on the 5th September 2016.

1. Insurance renewed - Premium INR 10,662/- for an IDV of 4.8 Lakhs
2. Completed 10K kms post the remap
3. Crossed the 69,000 mark on the Odo.

Milestone

Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed-20160917_005219.jpg

Got the wheel alignment done at Madhus as the vehicle was pulling slightly to the left. The rear toe is still off though the total values are within range. Will get that fixed back to the factory specifications on the next trip to True Sai.

Any center which fixes the rear toe in Bangalore?

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Had a minor accident when I rear ended another car around 20 kmph, thanks to lack of concentration and sudden braking from the car ahead. Luckily very little damage on the car ahead and the gentleman said "Don't worry these things happen and drove off"

Damage

Picked up the Lower Grill from Aadya Motors and gave the car to Trend Automobiles to have these fixed.

New Lower Grill

Upper grill clamps fixed by welding. It now feels stronger than the OEM ones.

Bonnet tinkered and repainted - Note, I asked the Trend guys not to polish the bonnet post the sanding and Rubbing. I will be detailing it in the next few days.

High beam bulb on the Left headlamps had conked. I had the upgraded the bulbs to night breaker plus a little over 3 years back. Link. Replaced these with the Osram night breaker unlimited for the high beams which cost me 1650 bucks.

Swapped the parking light bulbs with the Palio ones as I had put the LED ones in the Palio. This one now looks whitish

Old one looks yellowish

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Finally went ahead and got the ICE set up converted to active and rewired the full setup. Got the tweeters on the A pillar as it was placed in the door pads earlier.

Got the front doors re-dampened as the old one was almost end of its life.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Post the ICE wiring update, the car interiors were a bit dirty. Thoroughly vacuum cleaned the car and the boot.

Battery terminals required a bit of attention as there were signs of mineral deposits. Cleaned it and mounted the terminals back.

Wanted to clean the AC ducts with minimal effort. Removed the AC filter and sprayed the 3M AC Cleaner Spray into the ducts and let it evaporate for about 15 mins and put a new AC Filter.

Changed the air filter as it would have been dirty by now. Thanks to the clean city Bangalore has become

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Wow. Your Linea is sure under a lot of TLC. I must say it looks smashing.

Though I have sold my Linea she will be dear to my heart as one of the best rides ever in all the cars that I have owned. 6.5 years of ownership and never has it left me stranded or given any trouble (except the AC evaporator coil replacement under warranty). Had to sell it off as electricals and some parts were failing and getting very difficult to source in Mumbai plus lack of time available.

Enjoy your time with your Linea

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Yesterday while driving back home, one of the roots horn conked after serving for a good 4 years. It was time to replace it. Bought the Hella Twin Tone horn and fit this today morning.

Open up the top bolts of the bumper (5 in number) to losen the up part of the bumper and the 4 screws to remove the upper grill.

Planning to add the Xado engine oil additive in the next oil change. Hearing a lot of good things about this one. Any inputs on the this is most welcome. Only grouse is it costs 3000 bucks for 225 ml.

Feb will a busy month with multiple travels, should cover a good 1500 to 2000 kms. The car is munching miles as good as it when new. One small rattle has cropped in near the glove-box which I will try and fix it over the weekend. Tyres look good for another 18-20K kms.
