A recent procurement of dual color LED fog bulbs from US, saw the installation done for the car. Though I like the white bulbs and have replaced almost all of them, except for the fog lamps. I didn't want to compromise the safety for looks when driving through rains, fog and hilly roads and was waiting for this kind of dual colored capability in the same bulb.

This LED kit has 3000k yellow and 6000k white LEDs inbuilt that turn on alternatively, everytime you turn the switch on.

Hi Surya,

Were the LED Fog lamps a direct fit? Did it need any rewiring?

Also can you share details about the rear bumper guard that you have fixed? Was it a straight bolt on?

I haven't been able to find a good make that is a direct bolt on and is aesthetically good to look at

Hi AAD,

The LEDs are HB4 9006 type, which are same as OEM. So, plug and play only.

The rear bumper is the aluminum one from Hiker, which is wrapped in matte black by 3M. Yes, it is a straight bolt on.

Thank you Dean. Appreciate your kind words.

I would replace my front bumper only if I get something like the Rhino replacement bumper in India.

Come on man!

I need a partner for importing that bumper. But first I need good tyres. Probably BF Goodrich.

Denzil, there are takers for Rhino bumper for sure.

However, it should play and tick all the right boxes before we lay our hands on it.

you have a superb thread, a lovely machine, and yourself a passionate guy.

query - while fitting the HB4 9006 LED Fog (dual color), any consideration for the led fans ? or is that fan-less led bulbs in your case ? asking because of water & dust leakage concerns :-)

thanks,

Thank you for your kind words, pcpranav!

They are with heat dissipation fans, which is rated water proof and hence no concerns.

thanks. requesting, whenever you have time, pls share some pics of install area - how the led fans & dust cover are looking, so that no leak inside the fog light compartment, that's my main concern.

My fogs are converted to HID bulbs, and one of bulb is looking dim that other, so start looking for options!

Also my low beam projector left bulb (discharge type, original) is occasionally (not all nights!) flickering, damn annoying to me, imagine the ahead vehicle ! Not sure if any fuse or connection issue, but ASC guy just said bulb on end-stage, not really checked anything.

The original bulb in Toyota costs a bomb (14K+). If bulb is kaput, then Im thinking on getting same bulb cheaper from Malaysia/Thailand (heard almost 1/4th cost), or plan some LED route - again the concern of leakage via dust caps! Inputs of gurus most welcome.

Thanks,
Pranav

Wow Surya Garu,

What an Ownership Thread ! This will surely be an inspiration for me when I plan my own Ownership thread. First of all, a very belated happy birthday to BOSS and more importantly, I have never seen anyone pamper their cars so much.

Great modifications done and I think having contacts who can bring in products from the US for us is a great advantage. And products procured from the US are higher quality I suppose.

Those service prices for such a big car are really mind-blowing. I don't think any other vehicle of similar size and engine would come close to Toyotas' reasonable service costs.

Looking forward for more updates and pictures, and to meet someday as well.

BOSS went for a short road trip of 430kms to Warangal to meet my school mates. The drive was as it was, when BOSS was a new SUV!! No ageing issues, no rattling noises, absolutely nothing!! Mileage returned was 14 kmpl with steady speeds with most of the drive.

All you need was some good music and BOSS is ever ready to take me to places.
