did you ask them why they had to change the bushes? and did it make any difference to the feel of the car?

I think both are same. I had complained about a noise from the suspension and a rattle from below the steering rod while going through potholes for that service. They have accounted changing these bushes and steering damper tightening against this complaint. The noises are gone after service.

Just dont know how, this morning my swift just refused to start. Culprit a dead battery. Am still waiting for the guys to come and jump start my car. Guys can the battery go dead in just two years? Things were just fine when i parked it last night. I mean no starting issues nothing. The guys at maruti tell me that I may need to change my battery, if someone could help me out on this? and which battery just in case I have to?

Another thing i remember reading in the owner's manual that we shouldn't start the car by pushing it, will it harm the car to such an extent? Just asking.

iam looking forward for my vdi too..
i just sold my petra 1.6 a few days back.
just yesterday i came across a well maintained swift vdi run 28k looking in mint condition.took a td liked it.iv paid the token for the car and booked it.
guys the turbo kicks in at around 2200rpm and then the car takes off.it should kick in at 2000rpm right?
is it advisable to get the car checked in a maruti authorised service station?

The turbo should kick in between 1800 RPM to 2000 RPM.Give the car for a service , have alook on underbody when it is on the ramp so that you will have full confidence on the vehicle.Good luck.

Ideally it should at 2k. The kick from the boost comes later and less intensely if the air filter is dirty , or more likely- intercooler clogged with oil.
Also, dont discount the possibility of an error in the tacho.
It is always advisable to get it checked by professionals you trust.

Why is the car being sold at 28k?

What I have understood: Moodern cars with ECM (Electronic Control Module) should not be push started due to the possible voltage fluctuations which could harm the ECM.

My exide battery died last week at 1 yr 5 months. Outside warranty. but even if exide offer me a battery free of cost, I'm not going to take it. I paid and put in an amaron with 5 yr warranty. Be happy that you dont have an exide under your bonnet.

What I dont understand is, why they offered you a replacement if it was out of warranty.

How much did the battery cost ripper ?

Now once again I have no words, So here are the sequence of events

1. Car refuses to start, any attempt to start the vehicle causes even the instrument panel lights to go off.
2. Maruti mobile van arrives on time, We jump start the vehicle and everything seems to work perfectly fine, no issues at all, no warning lights nothing.
3. Take it for a spin and drive straight to the dealer(Appointment already taken).
4. As I drive into the station, Engine at 900 RPM, i feel these thuds in the steering wheel and there engine goes dead again.
5. Now, I get off the car and we have 2 guys working on the car right away. One guy takes off the battery and is gone to do some tests.
6. He comes and says, battery is dead we need to get a new one(6.5K)
7. As i am getting prepared to get a new battery, same dude comes and gives me a good news that battery is working fine. Bad news, he says alternator may have gone. Darn, I was now wishing it should have been the battery.
8. We plonk the battery back in and my service adviser insisted that we try 1 last time.
9. Battery guy fixes terminals, SA cranks the car and to everyone's surprise car starts just as if nothing happened.
10. Battery guy disconnects the battery, cleans the terminals & connectors, tightens all nuts and bolts.
11. We take swifty for a long drive, no issues clap:.

Guess it must have been some carbon formation or some loose contact. But will surely have this rechecked during my 45k service.

@Eddy- The battery I was sold- Amaron-with 5yr warranty is 8.5k

And the net cost ? (after exchange)
8.5k seems to be pretty hefty.

Why is the car being sold at 28k?

the owner is buying a ford endeavour.
i had taken the car to spectra motors thane for a thorough check up.
technician took a test drive(quite a long one).only thing he mentioned that the brake pads need to be changed and wheel alignment has to be done.engine in good condition and suspension in good condition although the front side bush might have to be changed in another 5-8k.
gear box and clutch in good condition too.
then the car was lofted up and the under body revealed that the car has taken a hit underneath, front bumper has been changed and a lower arm has been changed.he said that the car might have taken a hit on a big speed braker/stone
he also said that the A/C condensor might have to be changed.but while he was taking the t.d he was really impressed by the A/C and its chilling.it cooled the cabin damn fast inspite of the noon sun.
other than that he said that the car has no problems what so ever.
just the front brake pads need to be changed immediately and condensor might need a change.
the dealer started at 4.60lacs and reduced upto 4.40lacs not a penny less.
its a white vdi with autocop,leather steering wheel,leather gear knob,rear spoiler(which looks great!),sporty exhaust pipe attachment,sports pedals,well maintained interiors.basically the car looks new.its got a v.i.p number too!
tyres are good for another 10k.comprehensive insurace valid till sept 09.
iam planning to negotiate with the dealer for the condensor.

I didnt know there was a price for the dead battery:Frustrati looks like I've been had.
I'll go back and ask them. Probably too late now. that reminds me, I never asked for the exchange on my previous 2 exides either. I was too happy to get rid of them.

That is not a free replacement warranty, but a pro-rate exchange warranty. So iff your battery fails in 4 years..which it will, you will get the best deal from AMARON ONLY..

The cost is built into the battery and thats why AMARON is expensive!
