Kalyani MASS is On ORR just before the Mysore road junction. It is a big setup including showroom and is clearly visible if driving either on ORR or Mysore Road.

The AC vent cleaning involved removing the glove box and cleaning up the AC ducts and vents. There was lot of small leaves in it.

Hi DieselFan,
Your experiences run a parallel with mine except that i have not seen the ECU problem. Regarding the electricals would you suggest any particular place or person? Also have you put on leathers for interiors? and alloy wheels. Probably this time i shall visit Kalyani for the 50K Service, Would you have any SA whom you can refer to?

Any reputed Auto Accessories Shop will be a good bet for headlight job. What is important is to go for genuine HID and avoid any Chinese make. Check out a good Auto accessory shop near you place and check out the options he has and the knowledge he possesses before contracting the job to him.

No leather interiors in my car but I do have alloys.

See your PM for contacts for Kalyani Motors.

Wheel balance & alignment done due to any reason, means how you decide whether to do it or not?

What is the advantage of Screen Wash Concentrate ?

Engine Oil, is it DelvacMX and is it 210/ltr?

Black smoke maybe due to accumulation of soot in the exhaust piping or in the catalytic converter. You can try running the car at higher RPM (Close to 4000 for 3-5 min in 2nd or 3rd gear on an open straight stretch of road. This will clear the soot accumulated in the exhaust system. This should be repeated once every 1000 kms. This process is called Italian Tune-up.

Not required. This is simply waste of money. It is better to change oil more frequently than add additives if you are driving in stop and go city traffic most of the times. If you are driving 50% highway and 50% city than 10K KM oil change is good enough and once in 30K kms you can use engine flushing to remove any engine deposits. I have done this on my car and engine is running fine for > 50000 kms.

Wheel balancing and alignment should be done once in 5000 kms to have your car suspension/tyres in great shape. If alignment is not done for a while (>8000 kms) then you may get into uneven tyre wear issues. Wheel Balancing is to balance out the wheel and have a vibrationless drive even at high speeds. an unbalanced wheel will have higher vibrations during high speed drive and may also lead to excessive tyre wear on a long run. Typical recommendation is wheel alignment need to be done every 5000 kms and balancing to be done every 10000 kms.

Screen wash concentrate is put into windscreen washer fluid reservoir along with water. This helps better cleaning of windscreen.

As mentioned in the post by Guru the oil used is MGO which is Mobil Delvac 1300 which is a spec lower than Mobil delvac MX and also 20%-25% Cheaper.

Hi,

I do wheel balancing after every 5000kms as recommended by the Maruti Suzuki manual.

Concentrate is used in the Windscreen container for cleaning the glass windshield.

I Drive the Vehicle 60% in City and 40% on Highways. On highways i mostly drive @ 60-90kmph.

One thing i wanna share is I get a constant mileage of 18kmpl with 100% A/c. I use normal diesel.

Is the Black smoke due to Inter cooler hose pipe as discussed in some post?

Try out my suggestion in the earlier post #99 and let us know if your black smoke vanishes. Else it may be some other problem worth investigating by MASS.

diesel fan.i wish to ask you about your ac.my swift diesel has very bad cooling. even my cousins wagon r gives better cooling.

issue with my swift(sunlinght copper) is no or insufficient cooling when car is exposed to direct sunlight, on a hot morning-afternoon. in evening, car makes you shiver, it has amazing cooling in evening and night.

during hot afternoons and mornings, when car is under shade, ac starts cooling fast, again expose to sunlight and cooling starts to fade.

issue was reported to MASS(Chowgule) and they pointed out no tints as the issue.
Local mechanic pointed it out as maybe a problem with condenser. suggested spraying condenser with water and then observing cooling which i did today and the ac started to cool.

query is. is this a design problem in swifts with the condenser? or specific to my car.
will a heat sheild installation solve such a problem??
oh bythe way, i presume the ac condenser is installed right behind the grille.

@Ashwin - As I live in Bangalore I do not have problems with less effective AC. It always cools way too fast and I use it very infrequently.

Please get a good sun film installed and it should solve your problem. I do not think there is any issue with AC. Due to afternoon heat even the most effective AC does become ineffective.
