If possible the next time you renew the insurance go for a company having a tie up with the service centre.
Well Actually , an officer in this Insurance company is a very good family friend of mine. So , i no need to roam around for getting the insurance amount. He will give me the maximum amount possible (not full amount thou)

Well that is good to know, otherwise it would have been a problem.

Is the insurance company a nationalized insurance company by any chance.

My policy is its okay to take a loan from a nationalized bank, but never insure with a nationalized insurance company (For cars atleast)

They have ordered the parts. I visited the workshop with my friend and asked them to explain the parts they are changing. He said some parts will be changed only after they checked , if there is less damage , they will just repair it. The bonnet , front beam all were removed. The pillar area which was damaged is being repaired . They said , it will take 2 weeks to get the car ready.

cheers,
Vasanth

Repair Work Update

Hey Guys ,

Today went to the service station and had a look at the car. They are waiting for the surveyor who is coming today to confirm . For the next two days its holiday here and they said the car will be ready by monday for delivery. I replaced the Roots Windtone with Hella Redgrill horns. Then asked to change the grill mesh.

After that , I went to the tyre dealer and ordered a new alloy which is damaged . Will get that in one week . Now for the tires. I have eyed on Michelin XM1+ first. 195/60 R14 tires cost Rs.4300.
But there was a BF Goodrich Gforce Sport tires of the same size and they cost Rs.3500 . How are the BF Goodrich tires?
This is the tire i was talking about.

xm1 is a more comfort oriented tyre and the bfg sports are more sport oriented tyres. the grip from the bfgs would be much better but the ride would be stiffer and the road noise would be more.

So , BF Goodrich is the best bet for Getz CRDi ? Rs.3500 only (Rs.800 cheaper than XM1+) . And also its performance oriented. I need to decide this within this week .

Dude Michelin XM1+ 195/60-14 costs 4K in bangalore. Try to negotiate for 4K. I would suggest you to go for Michelin xm1+ compared to BF GR.

The BFGs are good. Go for it.
Though Michelin XM1+ are good tires but its not worth Rs 800 more.

The dealer is a Michelin Priority partner dude. They are giving T-shirt and track pants as free for 4 michelin tires. The BF Goodrich are not comfort tires though , but Rs.3500 is a good price . This 110bhp needs performance than comfort . right?
