Cool undead. One of the service guys said that service costs will come to 3K(if oil change) during free service and over 4K during paid service. Service charges mentioned by you looks reasonable.
My car is giving jerks while downshifting gears. I think its because of dirty air filter. What do you say?

The changed only the Oil and the Oil Filter. In the service manual it says the Fuel Filter and Air Cleaner Filter are also to be changed. I dont know why they didnt change them . May be they just cleaned them . Need to ask them .
Regarding the jerks , i am getting only when shifted at higher rpm . No idea whether air filter got to do something with this.
I am facing serious trouble with the wiper blades . The blades are not cleaning properly . Are you having any sort of problems with the blades? I sometimes use liquid solution to clean the glass . Does that cause the problem ?Can i change the blades to Bosch wiper blades ? i heard that they are good.

The wiper blades from Bosch should help you resolve this issue, it would make you poorer by 400 odd bucks

Hi undead,

Get them to follow the service schedule as mentioned in the manual.

I had a Viv CRDi between Nov 2004 and Nov 2005. In the 22062 kms with me, it had two oil change free services at 10000 and 20000 kms. In both the services other than the oil an doil filter, both fule and air filters were changed. In those days, oil and oil filters were free during the free services. So only air and fuel filters were charged. I also have put down that the wipers were changed. I don't remember the reason now.

My total service costs when I sold it at 22062kms were Rs 2110.00, an average of 15.6kpl overall with 100% AC.

Even i am facing the problem with wipers. They are of poor quality.
While raining, many times the windshield gets fog from outside even though AC is on. I have spray water and then wipe. Any solution to this?

Can we get bosch wiper blades for getz?

guys, let me know if you get the bosch wiper blades for getz. I too have the issue with stock ones. When I inquired, the blade size that comes in bosch is smaller than the stock size. Hence haven't upgraded yet.

Accident

Hey Guys,

I had a big accident today .. Got my little monster damaged .. I went to fit Amps today..We had a small function at home and i had to get back home fast. My dad kept calling me every 5 mins asking whether the work was over and asked me to come fast. I had no other choice but to drive as fast as i could. While i was approaching a small bend , i was about to overtake a truck , but the truck came slightly to the right as he was overtaking another two wheeler , and i saw an oncoming pulsar coming fast , i braked hard as he had no place to cross me . The wheels locked and the tires burst and i lost control and he too lost control as he too hit the brakes hard and crashed on me. The front right side got damaged and the alloys broke into bits. I didnt have much time to look at my car. I called up my dad and he came with many people. One known person of my dad came there and he took me away from that place as someone might start beating me. The case is yet to be registered . The guy in the pulsar has a fracture in his leg. We have informed the insurance company .

I WISH i had these things in my car that could have saved me from this accident :
1. ABS (MUST MUST MUST)
2. I should have changed the tires to Michelin or other good tires from Stock Goodyear GPS2. My dad didnt want to waste the money on buying new tires before the first set has worn out.
3. I shouldnt have been driving this tubetype tires as tubeless .
(Some of my TBhp friends warned me about the tires , but i was unable to put the solution for it and now I have paid the price.

Another Important thing : PLEASE never get tensed while driving. If someone calls you very urgent , dont get tensed about it and lose concentration .

Very sad turn of events. Hope you get your car back in original condition.

How come you were driving tube type tyres as tubeless, is'nt this dangerous.

I hope so . The car is in Police Station now. But will recover it in a day or two. Driving tube type tires as tubeless is like driving yourself to hell..

(My first post - yet to introduce myself).

Hope you recover your car shortly. Sorry to know all this.

I was searching for this thread since I wanted to ask how much noise dose the Getz CRDi make - going by Team-BHP - The Definitive Indian Car Community - Test Drives the diesel versino of the Getz seems to be noisy, at least "in theory".

I am gradually settling in mentally to concentrate and buy my first car - and wondering between the practical (low-EMI) Alto, practical and rather feature-ful Indica Vista (just touching my budget at 5.2L) and Getz CRDi simply due to the maddeningly good engine (and stretch my budget). After reading about this accident I have started to rethink whether I can afford to fit Alloy+ABS in Getz CRDi (initially I had thought not to) since by default it would overshoot my budget.

If I undertand it, Getz CRDi would totally lack features and freebies, and only the alcoholic engine and fantastic space/size would be the attraction - any Team-BHP-ian correct me if I am wrong on it.

Would appreciate your suggestions.
