Re: TATA Safari TCIC Maintenance Cost

Latest issue -
oil light coming on after vehicle has run for some time. ( got hot ).
changed the oil pressure switch . put a leyland oe rs. 380/- labour 250/- ( terrible location - poor access. ) Tata oe (Pricol ) rs.1060/- but not readily available at TASS or outside.
problem sorted out.

Now starting problem.... Diesel drains downline somewhere from fuel filter assembly ( probly a small valve spring gone weak ). fro a fortnight car started first time with slow knocking like a coupe of cylinders not firing or firing slow.... got plugs checked found ok. runs well after start during day.
starts on half crank but starts slowly.
visua;ize this....

starts grgrgrgrgrgrgr ( for about 30 /40 seconds ) then without any throttle input gets to grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ( normal duriNG rest of the journey ) http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images...rustration.gif

have checked everything form fuel line , heater plugs , FIP ( for leakage) , changed the fuel filters elements . not found anything amiss.
it has to be the fuel filter assmebly valve springs. has anybody faced this ?
earlier happened only first time in the morning or after a couple of days without run. noW started happening on starting after an hour or so.
today morning for the first time car refused to start on halfcrank as it has done since i had her.
brand new battery and perfect starter. ...
