IMO, anything in the vicinity of 10 kmpl (+/- 1 kmpl) in your situation should be fine. 6.5 kmpl though was wayyy off.
That was what I was thinking, im anyways getting not less than 9km/ltr now in the current traffic scenario. Im really contemplating changing the bunk from where Im filling up for the past 3 yrs, its not that i doubt those guys but you never know. Will check up on the FE figures with the change in the bunk as well. Thanks a lot mate.

You are most welcome mate. I think it would not hurt to fill up at another bunk just for a comparo. Most often we fill up from pumps from a convenience perspective rather than the quality / quantity of the fuel they dispense. Unless a bunk carries with it a particularly bad reputation, we would rather go to the closest one rather than taking a detour to go to an alternate pump. A request though, do post your comments on the FE post 2 fill ups. Just curious.

And another thing, as your Punto clocks more miles, she will only get better. Surprisingly, the initial rattles / squeaks et all in my Linea have drastically reduced with time (and no, its not that I have gotten used to the noise and now I just ignore it). The FE also improved a lot post my 1st oil change @ 5000 kms. Guess these Italians are like fine wine ...... better with age, wot?

All the best to you.

Re: Linea 1.4 (E+) - 1 year ownership review

FE update:

11.26 kmpl - Tank full to tank full
(Forgot to note) - As per MID

AC on 100% of the time. This is 90% city & 10% highwayish driving.

Very pleased indeed. Delhi waalas will recollect the traffic jams the last few weeks have seen. This FE is despite getting stuck in crazy traffic and loads of idling.

I am sure that with the next service, its only going to get better. The A$$ better not play spoilsport this time around or I will be mighty P!ssed.

Karan: Mr O P Sharma has moved to Him Motors, Patparganj. Pretty close to where Elegant motors used to be. Don't have the address though. Look around for HIM Motors on the Tata website for the address. HIM has another setup in Peeragarhi but you need to go to Patparganj.

Best of luck with the second service!

Thank you so very much for this Nitin.

There is a slight confusion though. On the Fiat website, I cannot see "HIM Motors" as a registered service center for Fiat. I can see it under car dealer section (Peeragarhi) though.

Is there any way you could provide me with Mr. Sharma's contact details please?

Thanks again for all your help.

Re: Linea 1.4 (E+) - 1 year ownership review

Thats indeed a great FE! That too, with 70% city driving, your average speed should not be more than 20-25 kmph, right?! Kudos to the car and her driver! :-)

Hey Dev. I too was pleasently surprised with the FE. But come to think of it, almost everytime I have changed pumps, my FE seems to have gone up considerably. Delhi waalas - this chor pump is the one at Dwarka, just before the fly-over (on your left) whilst going from Dwarka sec 2 to Palam airport.

My avg speed typically hovers around the 25 kmph mark. Thanks for your kind words.

Re: Linea 1.4 (E+) - 1 year ownership review

I use an Android utility named aCar to track the expenses on my Punto. aCar generates statistics, does some predictions etc. When you enter a refill expense, it takes the odometer reading and calculates the current FE as well as average FE, etc - these are supposed to be accurate. Funny, the Punto MID shows 0.4-0.5 kmpl less than what aCar calculates!

Thats great FE for a petrol linea, and that to in 70% city driving. I guess you can easily achieve around 17-18 km/l on highways then

Re: Linea 1.4 (E+) - 1 year ownership review

Wow! I used my uncle's Wagon R (around 10 K on the ODO) for a couple of days when my car went for service. With 60% highway (cruising), 40% city (including slow traffic on highways), this car gave me around 14 kmpl. Linea should be at least 200-300 kgs heavier? And I drove Wagon R sedately.

Not sure of the exact number but Linea should be a lot heavier than 300 kgs as compared to the Wagon R. With the next update, I think I will be including the average speed instead of / along with mentioning the Highway vs City mix. Should give more clarity on the driving conditions too.
