The total billed amount for the service was 4515/-

This was the first paid service, so they will charge me for the labour as well.
Only two free services? iam thinking almost all car makers offer min three free services.

TATA gives 4 free services

Madhu's charges Rs 30/per wheel for wheel balancing.

Weights are charged @0.70 per gram ( approx.)

Wheel alignment is Rs 250/-

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

Checked the T-BHP directory and went to Sai colorium near Banashankari to get an estimate for the repair.
He quoted 2.5k for removing both dents and entire hatch door repainting.

I was hoping for a <2k figure, but 2.5k sounds ok too. What do you guys feel?
Is he open to bargaining? I'm no good at that though
What about the color for repainting? He said they have computerized mixing. Would I get the original feel?

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

Left the car at Sejal motors yesterday morning.
Went back in the evening to check on the progress.
The tinkering work is complete and today they will be repainting it.

I also checked with him about the paint brand as suggested by gemi.
He confirmed that he is indeed using Dupont brand (Thanks captain). He said its K2 from dupont.

I also asked for the interiors to be cleaned, and a full body wash. He is doing complete interior upholstery cleaning with shampoo wash and outer body wash for 850.
He also offered complementary polish on all the doors as there were some small tar marks from my recent trip to udupi.

I had also mentioned that due care needs to be taken for the door alignment and other things like wiper connections while refitting the door.

When I visited in the evening, he told they will not be removing the hatch door(He found it complex too), and will repaint by carefully masking other parts.

Will be getting delivery today evening.

Here are some pics of the tinkering work.

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

There you go buddy. Now that's a fine job.

Last to last monsoon, I was driving in the dense Powai traffic and a Company bus was ahead of me near IIT Powai. It rolled back onto the bonnet of my Swift and put a huge dent in there. I could not do anything due to traffic and mad Mumbai rains.

I went to the Maruti *** and they quoted me a hefty 17K as they were to replace the entire bonnet. Luck favored me and a good friend told me about this denting and painting shop in Thane. He quoted me a sweet 3K for the job and once done, it looked like nothing had ever happened to the car.

So much so for the ***. I tell you, these mom and pop shops are real pocket savers.

I can say that with full conviction only after the paint job

Absolutely! The quotes you get from *** are almost always exorbitant! Moreover, these shops have good expertise in such repairs and quality will be very good.

Hoping to get my car back in perfect shape and color!

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

The delivery has been deleayed to tomorrow!
Suresh called me and told that the paint job and the upholstery was done, but he was not happy with the upholstery and it was not up to the mark, So he had asked them to do it again.
I did make a surprise visit, since it is very close to my work place, and I saw around 4 guys busy cleaning the interiors
Here a pic of the paint job, better pics of it tomorrow after it gets a polish!

They seem very honest and upfront with the customers, I like this
Looks good. A little polish and rubbing will bring out the shine. Very good job I must say.

Indeed, He was very apologetic for the delay as well. And my interiors were very dirty as well after my resent udupi trip and visit to the beach! So don't think he just gave an excuse as well.

And yes, the paint job was looking good, surface was slightly rough, but he said it will be perfect after the polish tomorrow

Praying it doesn't rain tomorrow so that I can take some nice pics
Last time I got my car polished, it rained immediately after I came out of the service centre!

I also saw the print out of the review thread on sejal motors on his notice board there. Told him he can expect another good review on the thread soon!

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

Yes, It happened, Yet Again.
It rained immediately after I took out my polished car out of the service centre

Took delivery on thursday, and was very happy with the quality of work at sejal motors.
Although the promised time of delivery was a bit delayed, the boot door was not polished after repainting(was done after I went there), full body wash was not up to the mark(didn't matter as it rained immediately!), the actual job at hand got full marks.
The boot door looks absolutely original, with no signs of the damage

Thanks to T-BHP, I found this place to get this done. Thanks to all those who wrote reviews and Bigger thanks to those who suggested this option as well.

here are a couple of pics. (cellphone pics, so not good quality)

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

How much did it finally cost? Just to get a comparison with Sai Colorium's quote.

Tinkering and repainting cost was 2.5k, which was same as that quoted by sai colorium.

Had to pay 850 extra as I got complete interior upholstery cleaning and outer body wash done too. Had some tar marks on the running board and doors, which was cleaned and polished too.
Final bill was 3350, I paid him 3400 and he returned 100

Re: Ford Figo diesel - 6 months Ownership experience

Hey figo_united,

What is the strange thing that I notice on the hatch door? I've marked it in the pic. Is it due to rain?

Similarly you can notice a couple of more spots at 10'o clock position w.r.t the black oval that I've marked.

Please ignore the unwanted damage done to the pic due to the editor I used to mark the spot. It is not there in the original pic!

Hi Abhi,

The marks are due to rain and poor quality pic from cellphone. It actually is not there on the door.
I did notice it while posting and thought of editing it, but didn't.

Here are a couple of pics I took with the cam just now .

Edit : Oops, I just noticed the latest pics are also distorted after resizing and uploading.
Again, the marks are not actually there
Noticed that saving the image from this page on your computer and viewing eliminates most of the distortion.
