Then it might be a possibility that the independent garage wanted you to upgrade to a better suspension setup like Koni, about which I & GTO were discussing. Koni Yellows are in range of 50k INR IIRC.

Maybe so , he did mention imported components but they were not a sport setup for sure , they were just stock components only imported from somewhere but in my trusted garage guy's words he was just trying to rip me off. This happened a year ago and my Civic's is still running happy without any suspension issues, touchwood, till now.

Edit : a year ago my car had done just around 42-43K.

Thank you for the appreciation, Sumeeth. It is job of Mods to decide upon issues of spamming not mine, so please don't worry about it. We are here for interaction with each other only. Am glad you liked the pics.

Hey, Absolutely wonderful thread. Hoping to instill some of the mods you have made in my car down the road.

BTW, did you get your Steering Leather re-wrapped or restitched ? if yes, then how much and from where ?

Ace the blacked out chrome grill looks great. Is that matte black or regular black? also is it painted or vinyl wrap.I am thinking of doing same to my Civic but not sure whether it would look good on my car as it's harbanero red in color.

Thanks SM. On steering re-upholstery, unfortunately no. I haven't been able to find time for it, hence it is as it is. Will get it done soon and will let you know the details.

Sumeeth, it is regular black painted on car's OEM grill. But we need to prepare (make the chrome surface rough) the grill to cause paint to stick to it. I had got it done LY.

I've been quite an ardent devotee of this thread ever since the Civic fever struck me . Frankly, I was let down by your long hiatus but thankfully, you're revvin' it up .!

Have you planned any Body Kit upgrade.?

Hi, I am looking for help to fit steering mounted controls on my 2006 Civic. Any help on how to go about it and where and which components to go for will be great. I read at some other forums that City and Jazz steering control units will fit the Civic as well, is it true? And finally, does anyone know a place in Bangalore which can help with this job? Thanks in advance.

It's been a while. How's the shark doing? Any updates or upgrades.

Here is the long-overdue update on my Shark. She has been chewing miles like before and has completed 134k kms as I write. In terms of any update on the car, nothing new to offer as updates except for another bust engine mount, a leak in steering wheel pump and a snapped hand-brake wire. Posted a quick update here.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...ml#post3853030

Got myself OEM Honda Engine Mount this time. I am sure it will last longer than its previous disguises (based on the quality).

My mechanic is searching for solutions for both pump leak and handbrake wire. Hopefully, both issues will be solved by end of this month. For the time being, here is a quick pic of the car and odo reading I took a couple of days back. Will come back with more detailed update later.

re: My Grey Shark: Honda Civic V-MT. 142,500 kms crunched. EDIT: Sold!

Update:

Finally, managed to find the handbrake wire for my Civic from Kashmere Gate (waited more than 3 months for this to arrive). OEM wire, cost me INR 2500 + 500 labour charges for fitting and calibration. My mechanic also managed to seal the steering wheel pump leakage by changing the seals of the pipe. Not sure how long this is going to hold up, but I will keeping an eye on oil reservoir levels to access the success rate. The underpinning of car's engine bay are submerged in leaked oil from steering pump. Need to get the car's underbody a thorough washing to clean up that mess. Here are a few pics.

The new handbrake wire...

Cause of wire breakage in the first place, damaged housing and wire due to underbelly scrapping on speedbrakers. Tip to other civic owners, please make sure the wires are tucked in underbelly neatly, anything loose or hanging can get damaged due to scrapping.

Also, got new rubber bushes for both lower arms as the older ones were showing signs of wear and tear.
My Grey Shark: Honda Civic V-MT. 142,500 kms crunched. EDIT: Sold!-img_20151128_131540.jpg

All of underside of engine bay has oil patches due to pump leak. Need to get this cleaned ASAP.

All in all, the car is back to its best performing conditions and I am sure it will keep crunching more miles with me at its wheels.

re: My Grey Shark: Honda Civic V-MT. 142,500 kms crunched. EDIT: Sold!

I am not sure if this disguise of my car has been shared here on this thread. Found these pics today while migrating some data from my office laptop to another desk. Sharing the pics from last year when my car was running on Gold-painted Konig 17 inchers.

The inspiration for this combo came from here...

Have taken these wheels off because I damaged one tire+wheel during April when a dumper carrying sandstones dropped a huge piece right front of the car and I couldn't avoid hitting it. The wheel-set is sitting at my place since then and I am back to OEM wheels.
