What do the rest of the guys say ?

As you can see that even 4.5 Lakhs for a Good Maintained car is a lot.

I think you should search for the Indian W124.

Central locking is vacum assisted and an easy fix = service Rs 5000/-
ABS light could be a problem if it is a relay this can be fixed they too are expensive (Rs. 10 to 30K if I am not wrong), and if the unit is gone then could be way more expensive at least in the W210/BMW post 1995 not sure there have been many w124's so the unit may be cheap best you get a hold of an independent MB guy who will give better grip on parts and labor. The sluggish bit is relative E250D are not fast they are rapid once you get into 3/ to 5th gear and sluggish in city. But if this one feels slower than the other E250D's you have driven then the pump needs setting and work another expense to be consider if you make an offer

It takes a long time to engage. Is it true of all W124's? The owner says he has replaced the clutch master cylinder a few months back and that the clutch is ok. Also what should be a good offer price for this car? It has done about 1,12,000 Kms till date. I need to make an offer to him so please do give advise.
Also the following works need to be done:-
1. Central locking not working.
2. Side indicator is missing.
3. ABS light is always on.
4. Power windows need to be checked.
These are the things which the owner told me need work. Rest according to him is perfectly ok.

Could someone recommend a good mechanic to maintain/service the E250 D in Mumbai, preferably someone in South Bombay.
I figured it would be best to ask someone here as you guys would know best, and I wouldn't end up going to some shady guy who might rip me off.

I think Authorised Service Centres are Best for the car.

Yeah, but the problem is that Mercedes Authorized Service Centers would be very expensive. Thats why I was hoping for an independent guy.

Note: Original Post asking for mechanic to service/maintain was done before the Team-BHP Directory was started. If anyone can answer this question, please post it in the directory.

Re: A used W124 E250D? EDIT : Now bought. Thanks!

Guys,

I apologise for pulling up an old (a decade old!) thread, but I looking for some spare parts for my W124 E320 (1995).

I am specifically looking for the trunk warning triangle and trunk lining that it is placed in.

I live in Coonoor, so I am looking for spares in Coimbatore, Bangalore and Madras.

Any information would be appreciated.
