Buddy how much did the kit cost you? I am planning to get Lovato/BRC/tomasseto for my polo 1.2P soon.

Even I converted my car to CNG from Greenglobe Kandivali. Had a really good experience.

Got the plates on the same day.

Drove approx 2100 kms in a month and all is well

45k including rc endorsement. I would suggest Landi Renzo as well. They own Lovato.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

So far I've been getting around 15-16 to the kg with 75% AC in the city. Does that sound right for the SX4? I feel its a little less.

New air filter, NGK Iridium plugs, Mobil synthetic oil and oil filter were installed along with the kit.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

Based on my findings so far i have been able to find one installer Sachdeva autos, New delhi who has positive feedback. But the problem is he has three options in sequential kit: BRC(45k), Tomessto(38K) and Lovato(38K) for my polo 1.2P(all prices for 12 kg cylinder with RC endorsement). Are there multiple variants in mentioned brands? If yes what's the price? Folks from delhi/Noida/ghaziabad, can you suggest me other trusted installers.

I guess you should go with the Lovato then.

Yes, Lovato has 3 variants in sequential kits. Mine is the Easy Fast - Smart looking at the components here http://www.lovatogas.com/php/eng/cng_systems/. They didn't seem to have the other variants.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

"A 100-litre cylinder holds about 17 Kg of CNG at a pressure of 220 bars and that 1 Kg of gas" This information is taken from Lovato website. So practically a 70 Liter tank can take around 11.9 Kgs of gas at 220 Bar pressure which at 200 pressure ( which is commonly there at most pumps in Mumbai ) it should be 10.81 kgs of CNG.

I was just checking my fuel log and for the last 30k kms on my Civic, I have refilled CNG plus petrol of 1.08 Lakhs in last 20 months and this includes many runs which were done only on petrol. If the same kms would have been covered on Petrol considering average of 9 kmpl and petrol price of 78 I would have spent 2.6 Lakhs on fuel. This translates into huge saving of 1.52 Lakhs which is almost 5 Rs per km for Civic kind of car.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

I'm having problem with my CNG kit which is not getting rectified. I'm having Civic automatic with sequential kit installed. The car in total has done around 61k kms out of which around 31k is on cng. The problem which I'm facing is that the car sometimes stalls. It happens when the car is at low speed and I leave the accelerator or when I'm at standstill and press the accelerator to move forward. The car has visited my installer thrice but no improvement, though this doesn't happen every time but even if happens once in a day puts me off.Last time I was told that my 2 ignition coils have gone weak, I changed all 4 but still problem continues. Someone suggested checking the CNG filter but my installer says that there is nothing like that, and when I tried checking I couldn't find any filter installed for CNG. I need urgent help as though this is not happening all the time but still I don't want to love with such problem. The car after getting converted never gave this problem it only happened in last 6 months that too after visiting the cng center for servicing. If any one has any clue pls help me on what's going wrong.

Hi,
One of my friends was also facing the same problem with his Lovato sequential kit. We did numerous trips to the installer and MASS back and forth. But the problem remained the same. At the end we took it to a local cng installer who disconnected the oxygen sensor. And the car is running perfectly fine after that. So maybe you would want to get the oxygen sensor checked for your car.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

Is there any myth that says Fords, FIATs and other european brands dont work well with CNG? A friend is thinking of buying a Linea petrol and CNGifying it.
