Re: How NOT to stick parking stickers on car windshields?

How about using the screen guard we get for the big screen phones/tablets ?

How about using a suction cup on the windscreen? That way, you can just pull it off when not required. It might leave a round stain, but that atleast rubs off.

Cheers,
Rahul

Same thought as mine! But i went for lamination as its durable, and presentable if others are in the car with me.

Have thought of it! But I'd like something near to the glass since security guys would insist on peeping into the car area otherwise.

For me, since its a laminated card now - I just need to punch two holes and put a tag to attach it to the RVM.

PS: Sorry crazy driver. Dint notice that you've already tried this.
Yes. Have tried the sunvisor idea and its actually cool. Might stick to it if I can find some kind of card holder for the visor.

Cello tape also cannot be removed every single time right? I dont want these stickers on my car at all, except when its parked. Need some holder that I can pop the stickers in and out of!

Nice! Where did you source it from? Most ebay links I could come up with ships only to Europe.

Another pain is that dealers often paste their outlet name without informing buyers. I just got saved though. I rang my dealer quickly after seeing this post as my Alto 800 delivery is due Feb-end. He says it comes pasted in the stockyard. He was not sure whether he can inform the people there not to put that sticker, but he'd try. If I see that outlet name in my vehicle, can I tell those guys to remove it on the spot?
Yes you can! I myself had to do it once, after first service.

Will work, however plastic sheet/ lamination might turn out to be cheaper.

Thats again permanent, right? Looking for an easy solution that doesn't spoil the looks too. I admit it does peel off better than sticker glue though.

Re: How NOT to stick parking stickers on car windshields?

Search on eBay.co.uk
Someone will ship it to India

I had got it shipped to my brother in UK who brought it down when he visited us.

All you need is a rubber-band on the sun-visor!

Re: How NOT to stick parking stickers on car windshields?

Very timely thread.
I don't have any stickers as such but now I need to put one for the society where I live.

I have never stuck PUC stickers and never had any problems. But since when has this become an annual affair?
My PUC renewals are coming up for all three vehicles.

Re: How NOT to stick parking stickers on car windshields?

Wow !!! This is one thread that comes handy at any given point of time.

I had kept my company parking sticker on the dashboard, and eventually I lost it during one of the scheduled service. Post that I have fixed it on the windshield. Adding to that, when WA and WB was done, those guys have put up another set of sticker. And the PUC sticker. I have been fighting off with the Chevy dealer to keep off their dealership stickers everytime the car went in for a service.

Thanks to the various ideas above, I now can get rid of those stickers from the windshield and get them onto the sun visor !!!

re: How to avoid sticking parking stickers on the windshield

The office I work in, set a new rule a few months ago. Cars that dont sport the sticker prominently, wont be allowed to enter the SEZ.
They give a set of 2 stickers per car. One on the front screen and one on the rear. Which according to me is very stupid. Not even once in the 3 years that I've been here, have I seen a car enter the SEZ in reverse gear . Why bother with the sticker on the rear screen.
I hate sticking anything on the windscreen. Its just plain annoying.

My solution is, make use of the ticket holder in the Laura to display my office sticker. Thus staisfying the SEZ's rule of displaying the sticker, without having to stick it permanently!

It is very recent. I saw a post with the notification from Bharat Sarkar on this forum. Do not remember more!

For cars registered on or after April 1,2010, PUC will be valid for 1 year instead of the previous 3 months validity.

re: How to avoid sticking parking stickers on the windshield

I don't have a car and hence no issues

Though I was thinking, can't we use a Binder Clip and clip the laminated stickers on the passenger sun visor?

re: How to avoid sticking parking stickers on the windshield

I have had the same diliema for some time. One idea i was toying with is getting a horizontal card window shade roller like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Window...-/230582107442

To be specific, was thinking if
  1. This was off a small size
  2. The sheet was transparent
  3. It would have 3 suction cups i.e. 2 for holding the main plastic part and a third for when it is pulled open

That way the stickers can be stuck to the transparent sheet, pulled out during weekdays or when driving and removed when not required. If the transparent sheets could be replaced, nothing like it.

Only thing now is to find someone who can make this for me

Other far fetched idea now with smart phones and projection capabilities, we should have the option of getting soft copies of these tickets and projecting it onto our screens when required

re: How to avoid sticking parking stickers on the windshield

I never stick any kind of stickers . All are dumped into glovebox including PUC. And incase someone asks why, I straight away answer "I dont wan't my windshield to get dirty", works most of the times.

Is this city specific? I don't think so. I am still getting 6 month PUC.

Whoa! I could not have thought this in my wildest & the remotest imaginations

On a serious note, I think that small hook hangers with those vacuum sticky pads are a more practical approach.
