Thanks a lot for this link! Really helped.

Skoda service center quoted 4500 bucks! Ridiculous!
It turns out the Laura and the Superb have different connector types, according to the above website. I went ahead and ordered a pair of Hella Dynaedge blades.

For reference of anyone searching for Skoda Laura (old model) wipers, the sizes are 24"/19".

I bought them from vicky.in, and they seem to have wipers for all types of cars. Once the wipers arrive I'll report back regarding the service quality etc.

^^^Vicky.in seems to have pretty bad reviews. Do let us know your experience after you get them.

With the monsoons approaching in Delhi NCR, the wiper change on my City was overdue. These are cheap (300 shipped for a pair - 24" &15"), even cheaper than standard hella's, so thought of giving them a try. I have used them just once, and the results are good. Need to wait before their life can be judged. They look good too, similar to Bosch aerotwins.

Since you have purchased them, could you possibly mention what exactly is printed on the box? I mean, company name, model/brand, date of manufacture, manufacturing country, etc? Hope all these things are clearly mentioned?

Considering buying for a friend also (on my reco), hence concerned.

Thanks a heap.

Hi Raccon

The wipers are branded as GM enterprise - Soft wiper blade. I could understand from the description that this company are the importers of this product and are based out of Mumbai. Manufacturer name/country isnt mentioned anywhere on the box. Year of import is mentioned as april 2013.

They have given contact details on the box:
GM Enterprises
Gmenterprise103@yahoo.com

I got a chance to test these wipers today, performance is at par compared to the hella's I was using before.

Hope this helps.

re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

^^^Thanks a lot! AFAIK, for an imported product, the manuf company and country, importer, etc., have to be mentioned on the pack. Strange that it has no been mentioned.

Anyway, based on your review, design and cost, finally placed an order on Snapdeal for the GM Universal wipers. Cost = Rs. 297 after 10% discount plus some PB points.

http://www.snapdeal.com/product/g-m-...m-soft/1457092

SD didn't charge extra for shipping, after the discount was applied. Hope they last long. I guess all wipers work well initially... its the durability that will have to be tested. At worst, I hope they don't end up scratching the glass or something in the long run. From what I could glean on the net (may not be reliable), it seems this stuff might be manufactured in Taiwan.

Wish these sites would offer Bosch wipers. As mentioned, my last pair lasted some 3 years. But too much trouble in sourcing genuine recently manufactured ones.

^^^Ahh... thats an interesting find! Good, now at least I can hope for recently manufactured stuff and fast shipping... hopefully before I collide somewhere in the non stop rains here.

I ordered from Snapdeal as its a known devil, and they have been fast at shipping my past couple orders. However, that was from their own warehouse, AFAIK. With vendors, it could be different.

Another concern for me was packing - have received a lot of broken/crushed products in the past (from assorted sites). And Snapdeal did use good packing.

Please measure the wiper blade size using a tape and ask them if they have it in the measured size. Same thing happened with my I20 too. When I asked the blade for the car, they said they don't have blades for I20. Later measured and Went another day and asked them whether they have in the size I measured and voila and gave me a pack!

I called up the Bosch dealer in Delhi, they only have Aero Twin from civic which cost 2200 incl. taxes. According to him, clear advantage is not available for civic.

re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Replaced the wipers on my Figo yesterday with Bosch wipers; very happy with them. They are super silent and clean well. I picked a pair (22" + 17") from Shetty Motors in Navi Mumbai for 320/-.

re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

I replaced my wiper blades last month, after they were stolen. Unfortunately, from MASS, I got only co-passenger's side Bosh blades. Had to go for Syndicate blade on the driver's side. The pair costed me Rs.117 +177= 294/-. I guess the cost of syndicate blade was more because in my car, the driver's side blade is more in length.

Yeah they mentioned about the Aero twins but even that they were not sure off .But then spending 2k on that doesnt make sense for me when the inserts are available for around 500 rs. Im not sure of the price though.Anybody here have brought only the inserts from ASS or are inserts separately available after market.
