Yup

Running them on my car, they are worth the price. Top notch quality and added frames look good. Worth the price IMHO.

I am attaching a picture. Btw, these are from autoplates.in

They have an offline store in Gurgaon, so I picked them up in 3-4 days.

You plates remind me of my plates even though they are different fonts. Reason being I got #8833 which from a distance in DC font looks like 8888

Two of my other cars are #3388 which also looks all 8 from a distance.

Essentially I’m trying to build out a poor mans version of the 8888 plates in my garage with the help of the DC font which is the most deceiving one

Re: Your favourite number-plate font

Hey guys,

I was really bored with the IND plates on my Honda City, which has been rocking for the last two years.

Recently when the front plate was damaged, I decided to replace it with a different design. I browsed Orbiz website and really liked the Euro plate with the german flag. It is similar to the Speedex 2 style number plate.

I feel they really complement the sleek looks of the Honda City.

Rear plate in daylight:

Front plate:

Rear plate at night:

Close up:

Overall the plates as well as the frames are of good quality. Totally worth the money spent.

Cheers!

Re: Your favourite number-plate font

Aren't plates other than one in embossed IND font illegal in most states? Asking as I have seen cops issue tickets for it in TN, it's very rare though. What's the legality of using other fonts with the general white-black color scheme?

In Mumbai, HSRP system has not been implemented yet. Hence, any style of number plate which has its contents clearly visible from a distance are permitted. I have only recently installed these (Euro plates) but AFAIK, these won't be a problem with Mumbai Traffic Police.

Re: Your favourite number-plate font

In my family, we've never really changed the number plates on any of our cars, unless they broke or got faded. Anyway, I am a fan of the Old Style embossed plate font! It looked superb, although it may not suit too many cars, it looked brilliant on some cars!

Apparently, this Zen has had the embossed plates since day 1, I heard that one could have them instead of the normal dealer's plates, by paying extra!

Who can forget these National Garage plates, that looked great on the Astra back in the day!

Re: Your favourite number-plate font

After the longest time, I saw plates that I love as much as the original DC-font:

Oh man, that brings back memories! One of the biggest Maruti dealers back in the day had them. Dealers name was Auto something in Santa Cruz (just after Milan subway). Zooming in on my Zen's pic with the same plates:

WOW! What a beautiful Zen!! This looks like a 1995-96 Zen MH410 afaik. The White car is a 1995 MH410 Zen. Do upload some more images if you have any on the Zen thread! Would love to see

The White Zen was purchased from Sai Service at Phoenix Mills, I guess all Maruti Dealers offered that embossed plate for a premium back in the day.
There is a Fortpoint Maruti dealership after Milan Subway, I wonder if that's the one you're referring to?

At least 1 lady out there shares your love for this plate. Spotted it last night on a C-Class! Frankly, it looked very out of place on such a modern car.

I've seen a couple of Mercs and Bimmers with those plates. But those aren't like the original ones. They're more of a retro replica of the original plates. I've heard that there's currently only one shop at Opera House that makes the Embossed Plates in that original style and charges about 6k for it!

Nice play on both the "elevens" by this Audi owner. Would've looked really smart if he had kept the font size smaller:

That style was catching up when I bought my new car in 2017. So I too fell for it and had it fixed on my car. But over a period of time, this plate became extremely common (at least here in Trivandrum). One more thing which I didn't like was that the front plate was too big (unnecessary height) for the front. It even overshot the space designated for number plate by an inch in height.

So I got it changed to this:

Your favourite number-plate font-dsc_1022.jpg

I think this is unique and complements the look of the car.

Thanks. After searching for a better number plate in many shops around here, I finally found it in an Aluminium fabrication shop (Namimia Aluminium,Pothencode, Trivandrum) well outside the city here in Trivandrum. They do number plates but it is not their main line of business. I have not seen this style elsewhere.
