That looks like a... err... camouflaged model of a new M800-based crossover under testing.

Given how puny the car looks anyway, the a/c sure looked out of place.

Just curious - since the a/c unit is appending the structure of the vehicle, would it be approved by RTO?
This is Omni Cargo and the A/C is for the perishable food stuff they are delivering !! Can not be classified as weird or wacky. This is just a workhorse.

It could be a refrigerated Omni, to deliver ICE cream etc from the warehouse.

Oho! Of course the a/c unit was to keep the good refrigerated.

It just looked funny on a Omni!

I saw this Unidentified Moving Object near Damana Chowk once! I was too flabbergasted to note any details about it. Where in Bhubaneswar did you spot this?

The soft top looks like that of an auto rickshaw - makes the car look boring.

A little something from my corner of the world, for your entertainment.

I do not know if i can call this wacky, because the mod job looks extremely slick and well made, and the maker is not hiding any facts about it.

Sorry people. Have been slightly away from TBHP for a long time. So have to update myself on what all has been happening. Funny thing is my brother had called up 2 days before I took this pic to ask if "Is the new Tata mini truck ace types good to deliver goods (flour bags)? Please look about it on the website you keep surfing."

I'd definitely go with wacky on this one. Like the article said, people would be hard-pressed to identify it's Chyrsler heritage unless people try really hard.

It could fool most people at first glance, much more than those Toyota MR2 or Peugeot 406 Coupe-based ferraris and the one-off W124 based phantom.

Too bad that it won't be very entertaining to drive.

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

1 dark stormy night, in a Maruti Suzuki warehouse far far away.
A ray of light bounced off the Blue Eyed Boy Wagon R and it made the Hunk of Gypsy look right into those mesmerizing eyes.
Then ... they could not hold back anymore. The sheer torque of the Gypsy and the DUO power of the WagonR forced them to come together ... a little too close for comfort.
And the next day morning, after the dark night - when they opened the shutters - they found THIS !!!

Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!-20120605_123145.jpg

P.S. I think there was some distinct inspiration from Land Rover as well. The 'Discovery' plastered across and the 1 notch raised roof line towards the rear end? Also inside - the back had 2 very 'stylish' bucket seats.

Ofcourse - also the Ferrari Badging....

makes me wonder ... who else was in that warehouse that night ?!
