Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

Sharan,

Can you share the part # of the Calliper set (for BBK) and also the source from where you procured it? I plan to procure other parts for BBK installation from Chennai once the lockdown and travel restrictions are lifted. If you can share the garage where the work was done will be helpful so that I can plan to get it installed in the same place. Also please share the total cost for this setup.

Thanks
Luke

I don't remember the part number. I got it as a bolt on set from germany and its not available anymore with them. I know a few who have imported and selling locally. Get in touch with me I will try to help you source it. 95515-01010

Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

Looking at all these mods, I really regret trading in my vento last year. If only I could have come across some similar thread during the time that I owned it, it would have really helped to make some well thought out decisions!

It seems that the dash cam you are using is DDPAI.

Can you please share your review on the same? I am planning to buy one.

Appreciate your response.

Yes it is. I didn’t buy it for its performance rather for its understated looks. Quality and clarity seems alright for a dash cam although I find the app really slow and a little confusing while scrolling. For its use case I don’t mind the issues.

Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

I am very interested in upgrading my front disc brake rotor size. What all exactly will need to be changed to mainly increase the disc rotor size only. Can the stock calipers be used or do they've to be changed too? I earlier also had a 2011 POLO 1.2 Tdi and never had to change the brake rotors or felt any lack of braking ability for the 120000 kms that I drove it before selling off. I'm not sure whether it was the rotor size difference or outright difference in quality of rotors that made this difference. Till 2013 vw polo and vento had most of their parts imported from Germany. Its after the localisation in 2014 and independence given to vw India that the quality levels dropped and the suspension tuning went for a toss that ruined the high speed stability of VW cars. Especially polo and vento. I'm not sure about the higher segment.

can you share the Sachs shock absorber number that you replaced the oem socks with? I was mainly looking to upgrade the rear shocks only first to observe the ride quality difference and then think about the front ones if need be. There are multiple Sachs rear shock absorbers with different numbers that are listed as compatible with the vento and no available info as to the differences between them.

Sharan,
A quick question for you. When you had your older stock headlamps fitted with the Philips H7 LEDs did you face any problems with heating? Also, where did you source these bulbs from (Amazon?). IIRC, the highbeams were kept stock right?

Didn’t face any problems with light scattering nor with heating. I bought them off Amazon. My high beams were halogen.

Hi Sharan, can you share the exact model number for these bulbs? I checked on Amazon and found two very distinct Philips LED Ultinons (both H7), so am not sure which one directly fits the Vento's stock headlamp housings.

Links on Amazon -

1. https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08...0PFDRQGX&psc=1

2. https://www.amazon.in/PHILIPS-H7-129...s%2C290&sr=8-1

Would place the order once you confirm. Thanks!

Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

Wonderful thread for all VW Vento TSI owners, who can take a que from your thread and start upgrading their cars. Thank you for the detailed thread.

I have the same variant, and haven't made any changes till date, except for headlight upgrade to Philips H7.

Coming to the point, can you please advise the link on where did you purchase the Anti-glare outside mirrors, and their installation process.

Outside rear-view mirrors reflect a lot and is a pain during night driving.

Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

Hello everyone, thank you for being a part of my Vento journey and as all good things has to come to an end, I recently picked an octavia tsi L&k. My Vento is going to be used by my wife so there won’t be any more enhancements done further to it and will be driven as it is with regular maintenance.

Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

Brilliant mods, I just got a high line plus AT yesterday and needless to say have been glued to all the ownership threads of Vento / Polo.

With Aliexpress not working any local place I can secure the auto headlight from and the A pillar with tweeter cutouts?

Any leads would be helpful, in the long run I can see my self convincing that I need the paddle shifts too.

Re: Volkswagen Vento TSI with mods & accessories – My institution for learning

Hi

Can you elaborate a bit on the paddle shifter process?
I have an MY18 1.5 TDI DSG. Was coding required for activating paddles? Did your stock wheel come with the module supporting paddles? If yes then all I'll require is coding and a Tiguan steering wheel.
