(3500 rpm hmmm .. I think there is another theory also for running in engines exactly opposite of what you are following, its a bit crazy...)

Presently using mineral & will switch to synthetic after the "run-in" As for the theory on run-ins..........well i just dont wanna get into 50 different theories & worry myself sick wondering which is the right one. Common sense says - go slow on the intial couple of thousand kilometers......

Well! the guy whom I checked with for the short shifter now tells me that the Rs.2000 he is charging me is for shortening my existing gear lever. Anyways JD from SpeedWorks mailed and he has short shifter from RPM. Can someone please share link of the RPM brand which mfgrs short shifters.

If you mean RPW (Racing Performance Works), their website is:
Racing Performance Works - Home Page

Let us know how things go with SpeedWorks, and how much the short shifter is costing you.

My mouth went BIG just like the emoticon when I saw his mail charging me Rs.2000 to chop of the stick. Its truly amazing how far people can go to rip customers.

Harmon, I think the guy is nuts for quoting you so high. Maybe he is not interested to do it at all.

I saw a short shifter lever with a good looking knob here in an autoparts shop. The shop is close to the apartment where I stay in the US. It costs 24 USD plus taxes. I asked if it will fit Suzuki ALTO. Fun enough, he has not heard of my car.

Hey does that shop have a website? Can you share the picture if you have any? It would be great if you can check if he stocks the Shifter for the Mitsuishi Mirage.
