Please do not turbo the 1.6. Its not a very mod friendly engine, and parts can be hard to come by if something goes wrong. Its quite powerful in stock form, and some minor mods can make it better. If you really want a turbo car, go get something with aftermarket support like a honda or a mitsubishi!

I too would like to go with what JayD says-the palio is not a very mod friendly car and it is not wise to turbo charge it.i am planning to get a F.F.E. fitted soon and i will enquire about the turbo but i dont think it will be a simple job!!

i doubt the HKS unit can be fitted in the palio!!

Thanks for the Intel guys.
Hey guns666 do you have direct no. for karthik (racedynamics) and see if you can find out more about the HKS bolt on turbo

Well i know that Palio is not that friendly for mods. But if one turbo a 1.6 nothing like it... Palio 1.6 is a beast Everyone knows that...

Currently I topped out my car at 190 Kmph.. with FFE, Intake, Spark Plugs, and Polished head..
Well I want to feel the wonders that Turbo can do in 1.6 GTX....!

Guys Is there any 1.6 in India thats Turbo charged....?

thats pretty good... just so you know, you wont be doing much more with turbo... a very small change in top speed.. its just that you can get there quicker - thats what TCing will do (in my limited knowledge of TCs)

VGT for Palio 1.3 MJD

Can I fix a VGT similar to the one currently doing duty in the lenia on my Palio 1.3 MJD? Can an intercooler too be an oiption?

Guys,

My GTX's gear knob is worn out. I am thinking of replacing with a new one. Most of the after market ones do not fit the unique lift-up reverse mechanism in the Palio (hearsay).

What are the options for me? Do I go for an OEM knob or fit in a Momo?

the plastic knob costs 450/- and the leather wrapped one costs 2250/- at the service centre.

the leather on the steering wheel and the gear knob do wear out due to sweat. :( for the time being i am using a local leather polish to keep the gloss alive.

Palio mods/post all queries and pics here-22.jpg

Thanks! My steering wheel is also worn out. I'm wondering whether to replace both.

So, can one use an after market knob alone? I'm guessing this will not affect the reverse lift stuff! I am looking for a carbon fiber knob.

someone had mentioned earlier that they removed the reverse lock mechanism totally. Once that is done you can fix any after market knobs. Even I want to try that, as I could see lot of after market knobs which looks real sporty and cool.

A question from my side too. Thinking of changing to a short shifter in my Palio. Has anyone tried that on Palio?
