It's "Hertz" and it is a crossover, a part of the component speaker kit used to channel the right frequencies to the tweeters and Mid-basses.

I agree. Not only should the stereo controls be on the steering wheel, but a button for the horn should be as well.

After they started putting airbags in the middle of the steering wheel, why keep the horn control in the same place as the airbag? Think about an emergency incident: you'll normally hit the horn. If you hit another vehicle the airbag will go off while your hand is still on the horn control, thereby possibly ripping off your hand.

Check out the JVC RM RK-39. I am getting one for myself and will let you know once I have it installed.

What a thought! I agree with you completely.

Remembering cars from my past, I can think of at least four cars that did not have the horn button on the steering wheel-boss.

My 1977 Ford Taunus had the horn button on a stalk.
My 1979 Ford Mustang had the horn button on a stalk.
My friend's 1969 Ford Mustang Mach-1 had a "rim-blow" steering wheel. The Mach-1's steering wheel had a thin metal strip on the inside of the rim, which sounded the horn when pressed.
I had upgraded by 1988 Mahindra MM-540 with the combination switches of a newer model. The new combination switch had the horn button on the light switch stalk too.

Does anybody know any newer cars that don't have the the horn button on the steering wheel-boss?

If I remember right the Opel Astra [was that the name?] had the horn on a stalk. Took a bit getting used to.

You can buy it fom any Blau showroom. They will install it for you for no additional cost. It runs to 1700/- or 1800/-. The model no. is RC-10, I think. You'll need to confirm compatibility with your HU (I think all models, post 2004 are compatible).

Installation takes just a few minutes. The Remote needs to be clipped to the steering wheel, the IR sensor's wire needs to be plugged-into the HU's back, and the sensor needs to be stuck on the dash (or between the steering wheel and the instrument console) and that's it.

I guess it is real easy to DIY too (the install, I mean).

@suren I will do it very soon n send them to you. But look wise scroll up there is a pic of a Pioneer remote (I think). Mine is very similar to that. For a detailed pic and specs google JVC RM RK-39 and a few pages will come up. Check them out too.
