It came with the Full wiring and ECU. Haven't had time to upload more pics as I am always at the Garage taking more pics. Will sort out the better ones and upload them as soon as I can.
The Speedo cluster was also included but it was lost somewhere along the way. (mumbai to aizawl).

P.S. I'm planning to install the Zen gearbox instead as it has fewer hassles when mounting the engine.

well the advantage of the esteem mpfi is that it has 85 bhp stock and plues its newer technology than the carb, besides to convert mpfi to carb is easier than the other way around, well all parts are swapped, but the carb will be the 8v esteem carb, even the alternator, starter will be swapped . parts can be retained if ur swapping zen carb to a 8v carb esteem block , but the 16v block and zen head / carb esteem head ( 8v ) dont match .

Well just today ive Run my car on the Dyno and got about 48 BHP to the wheel ( Zen engine ) wanted to test if so that i can Compare the results after the swap, the chart ill put up in a bit as i havent got d email yet from KS, but i saw it on the laptop jus after the run, KS said that 48-50 bhp is very good for a car with jus a ffe and filter. so lets hope for the best after the swap .

I have seen this swap done on a zen in Bangalore. It was lying at my tuner (racedynamics) place for the ecu & tuning.

I am not sure who the owner of that zen was. You can contact them or if anyone else knows about that car can add in...

Cheers

I wasn't thinking of going for a 1.3 twin cam swap at first but after going through the other threads and getting a nice deal from Viper, I
went ahead and ordered one from him.
Transporting the engine took a long time as I live in quite a remote area.
My engine finally arrived yesterday, so I went as quickly as I can to pick it up.
To my horror the crate that Viper had sent the engine in had been opened and the engine was outside lying on the ground.
On close inspection some of the parts were broken. It looked as though It had been dropped from a certain height.
The distributor cap was broken and the timing belt cover had a lot of cracks on it. But other than that the engine seemed fine.
I was so excited on seeing the engine that I didn't mind too much about the Distributor cap and the belt cover.
After making a few calls to Viper and going through the packages it was found that the Transport people had lost (or broken) the speedo cluster somewhere.
Lots of phone calls were made but I looked as though we were never going to see the Speedo cluster again.
So after a lot of hot headed arguments, the transport people agreed to pay for the lost item.
I will have to order another Speedo Cluster.

Took some pictures but was in a hurry so not of very good quality. Will be taking more today.

If anybody has done the same swap or has any good ideas on the swap, I do urge you to please input your comments so that I
can turn this into a reliable and successful project.

The graph is in somw wierd format, i need to convert it and then ill put it up, sorry guys, Thw swap will be done by Holi i.e tuesday and on wed we ll be doing a test run on it, I am using the zen gearbox only, not changing anything else except the engine and getting a port/polish job on the head, thats it. That will be more than sufficent for me at the moment, looking out for a sports clutch and upgraded shocks and brakes in the process.

hey sorry for the v.v.v.v.late reply, well ive got the transplant, run in the engine as well, did 1100 kms in the run in, changed to mobil 1 synthetic oil, and the moment u hit the pedal the car just flies, its an absolute stunner, but the only problem is that when you are goin fast and want to stop one feels that the car has no/less brakes, braking need to be worked upon as well as i need to stiffen the suspension which is goin to be underway very soon, I dragged with a stock OHC 1.5 and beat the car by atleast 2 car distances, i jus need to get my gear shifting timing right and it'll feeel even better. ill post pics soon

Help needed once again

Hi guys,

As you know i also have a 99 carb zen, in march 09 i had swapped a 16v esteem enginewith g/box which was actually an MPFI engine but used it with a carb , used the carb from the 8v esteem engine, just did a basic overhaul with new pistons/rings cleaning, did a run in and was driving fine, then came the thought of selling it but then again i changed my mind to keep it, until 1 day in aug i wanted more power, hence i removed the engine and went ahead and Bought .20 Oversized Pistons MGP and rigs, opened up the engine, did the block boring as well to the new specs of pitons, but however after that never installed the engine, went back to Stock for the reason that i am phobic of going mpfi since my car is originally a carb, GOin FI will mean to change the entire wirig of the car from head to toe, plus that wil be used wiring and not new, when i used the stock engine with stock carb at speeds of 130-140 on the expressway if downshifting while revving hard i would feel the car grasping for fuel as all is stock, NO FPR o anything installed,

i am told that if i go FI it will increase the BHP as well, I Use it as a daily drive as well hence want a quick initial along with a decent enuf mileage, now after driving stock for about a month i want the esteem engine back in the car, what do u suggest i should do:

1. I have the option of giving my esteem engine paying 40k more and getting a baleno engine(head/block) with complete wiring and g/box which is in good condition, but that will mean changing the engine foundations? please throw some light on it. but again i have spent quite a bit on the car already in terms of ICE, engine swap earlier, paint etc so dont want to spend a lot. approx cost for above: 45-50

2. get webbers, but for that buy used webbers, Custom make the intake manifold, but im told if using a webber for daily driving will kill my mileage? approx cost 22-25k( 12 webber +10 manifold)

3. get the engine back in the car, get the esteem carb race tuned from Panchal who is a specialist in carbs and get a hi lift piper cam BP285 + camgear/vernier pulley, i have a friend going to the uk so he will get the job done from piper, its cheaper than getting it from here. approx cost : labour for swap: 5k, carb race specific tuning: 6000 , piper cam 130 Pounds Regrinding the original one = 10400, camgear cost in india 8k, total 30-32k+

4. Buy 2 nd hand wiring from CST Road Kurla which is approx 10k, go MPFI , hi lift cam + camgear approx total 28-30k + labour

5. DONT want to get a twin carb as tuning that is a big headache.

Also Braking upgrade to esteem type 2 brakes ( with a few zen D components) total with booster, hub, discs etc is approx 10k for all new MGP parts.

apart from the points above if thers anything else i need to know please help me out.

ALso would like to know more on Fuel pressure regulators(cost and where to source) , High Pressure Fuel Pumps (cost and where to source ) aluminum flywheels ( how does it Help) apart from weight reduction?

my current budget is 20 MAXX 25 which should include everything,

i already have stiffened suspensions but will get koni or pedders in future.

PLease give me your valuable suggestions.

sorry for the long story , thanks in advance.
