No problem dude. Thanks for clarifying. So it is a 4x2x1 street spec header.

Any plans to relocate the air filter to a relatively cooler spot?

well ceramic coatings work like header wraps...if done properly, they maintain a high temperature within the headers to keep airflow optimum. they also have the added bonus of insulating your engine bay...

Chrome is great for looks, but ceramic is for increased performance [Anyone wanna chime in with cost for both these coatings in India]
cheers:

Aditya, sorry to again tell you this, on having a chat with psycho, I came to know that I was right in my feeing that it kicks in at 4000 rpm....at 2500 to 3500 what i feel is a change in sound and thats because of my stock muffler which is still la little restrictive. The increase in torque that i get is because both of the catcons have been removed and I have a straight through pine instead.

PS: Thanks psycho for educating me on this.

Sorry TG for i am unable to understand the technicalities involved.

I was under the impression that 4x2x1 improves low and mid range (for city driving in particular) and therefore the headers kicked in earlier (like around 2000 or 2500 RPM). Maybe the mad mod guru can clarify. Please dont get me wrong.

I have a straight pipe too with the 4x1 header, no center muffler or cat con. Got a SS muffler though. Headers kick in at approx 4000 RPM. Fantastic mid and top end power but low end torque is reduced greatly which is cumbersome while driving in the city.

So do you have a 4x1 or a 4x2x1 header?

Adi' you are right, thats what I have installed in my car and maggie's car too.The headers kick in at about the same rpm. Now get yourself a set of street spec' headers also. Swap them as and when you like to.

Same question here torqueguru.Is it a 4x1 or a 4x2x1 setup.

Either ways be a little easy on the clutch since its too tempting at times. If you know what i mean.

My understanding has been the same. Totally confused now. Psycho, please clarify.

I am waiting for my warranty period to be over so that I can take the plunge with modifications. Long way to go.

The in gear speeds aren't linked to the FFE,rather its linked to the gearing.even if you put 50bhp more,it will still touch the same speeds in the corresponding gears but will get there much faster.

And congrats on the headers torquegure,they really look bling.

True. I did not expect such hot debates on a strange incident.

ITs a 4x2x1 setup.The car has a very linear pull so you can't really feel the headers kicking in.Psycho has retained the stock muffler to keep it silent and at 4000rpm the change in sound is very prominent.

THe car has tremendous torque though!Congrats Mukul!

@n_aditya
@PatienceWins
Dont worry Aditya...I understand your query, I was also a little confused hehe.
Well, ....its not just the 4x2X1 that matters..The internal diameter matters too as per my understanding( I attribute by understanding to Psycho though). With a 2.5inch internal diameter I get mid to top end power but since both the cat cons(cedia has 2) are replaced by a straight through pipe again the diameter matters, theres very less restriction and thats what contributes to the torque. And I need to add, the torque I am getting now is simply amazing.

@rjstyles69
Its a 4x2x1. And you are right about me needing to be a little easy on the clutch and I get exactly what you mean

@hellspawn
Thank you pal.

@blue2ki
FFE, short RAM intake and...umm well thats it

Ps: mad mod guru is not keeping well, may be thats why hes not seen in here

Regards,
TG.
