Thanks for the suggestion From a E220 \ E190 to SL300 - that is ambitious

Don't want to spend that kind of money at this point in time.

Thanks

The 190 is now being scrubbed down to sheer metal. Other than new paint & upholstery, it shall have new wiring "but not of a 190" !!!

This is going to be a long drawn project. As & when there is spare money (in these times of recession it is most unlikely) !! The car shall take shape slowly BUT surely !!

Going to see the AMG mercs on Sunday ! Let's see what they offer in terms of performance vs what I have planned !! LOL (just kidding)

Cheers

P.S. Am I being tooooo optimistic ?

Shelved project it was till ..... lightening struck. The car is being scrubbed to metal to see how much rust (if at all) has set in. This car has been parked at a farmhouse for 7-8 years now.

If after the scrub it is worth "restoring" I shall bring it to life or else it shall happily sit at the farm.

Wish me luck, I really cannot say at this stage where this will head

Cheers

What all are you going to do if it is in good shape to be restored.
Any upgrade on the engine. Like the 1.8T?

Well if the body is in good enough shape it shall be restored to stock as of right now. Once the cash flow gets sorted out (post reccession), it may end up with a 300 BHP engine.. sssshhhhhh

All depends on the overall cost & restoreablity of the car.

Cheers

Nice going sir, looks like you have finally decided to go the German way. Congrats, should be an interesting project. Mine is finally up and running and is just awaiting the cosmetic upgrades. When are we getting to see this beauty at Arush's workshop?

@ Abix

I have been a German fan for quite sometime (Skoda, Audi, 2.5 16V Cosworth), so this is just going to add to the fascination for all things German.
