Hmmm. That's some useful info. I don't know about this funda. Thanks Ash. Guess will have to scrap buying the OSRAMS now.

Its not that am not getting good light. Am getting sufficient light but its just that I wanted 'better' light. . Always wanting more.

I am want to enhance the light output of my Getz.
1. Can I safely install the Osram night breaker without relay and without changing the bulb holder?
2. How much more brightness can I expect compared with the stock Getz bulb?
3. Where can I get this bulb in south Delhi or Noida?

1. Yup you can
2. I would say a 20% more brightness level
3. You can't, you have to go to Kashmere gate. New jain spares has them. Catch metro from inderprastha, it will take just 1 hour max to go buy and come back

tsk, thanks for the response. I have to go to the dealer over the weekend to replace Sony rear speakers with Pioneer (my first choice). I will see what they have to say with respect to enhancing headlight intensity, and proceed forward accordingly.

Even so, what are my choices in 55/60W without relay?

I switched from OEM Philips in safari to OSram 60/55W silverstar.
Am happy with them.
Apart from that you have Osram Nightbreaker and Philips extreme Power Plus, but they are short life bulbs

I went and bought the Nightbreaker form the Karol Bagh dealer today. First thing I noticed was that it came in single packs and not pairs as mentioned by someone in this forum (maybe in this thread). I am posting a photo of the package.

For the limited time I had used it this evening, my initial impression is that I tend to agree with the review quoted in the first post, except for light spread, which I believe is more dependent on reflector and orientation. I am waiting to see how it performs on the highway, with a little bit of rain thrown in.

Right now I am struggling with light spread which will become topic for a new thread if I can't find ready answer.

Kashmere Gate is a large area with thousands of shops, and most have duplicate stuff / garbage china made bulbs.

Can you provide some type of directions or location more specific for New Jain Spares. Telephone no.?

Thanks!

Here is the location of the dealer from which I bought mine: Shree Om Raj & Co.
Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!
The centre of the screen where the + sign is, is the approx location.

Just noticed that the Nightbreaker package has a graphic symbol indicating that the bulb heats up to >200 deg. C. That seems like quite a lot. Should I be worried about the bulb holder? The stock bulb I had removed is a Halonix 37R E1 2F8 (hope that's some model number). Does anyone know how much heat does this Halonix generate?

Hi guys, I am irritated with the poor headlight of my SX4 Zxi (May, 2007). Its very less in terms of illumination and spread both. I was planning to switch to HID but reading about the osram nightbreaker and other simillar products got confused a bit. Also HID prices varies from 4k (Chinese) to 28 k (Phillips) that again is too confusing. Can you please suggest the best upgrade and which brand should I go for ?

If you are running on stock halogens - you can safely upgrade to blue / white light halogens of a similar rating.
Infact this week I upgraded to "OSRAM COOL-BLUE" from Noida. IMHO they are true VFM - Costed me 750 a pair and I got a bill for these. Surprisingly It was communicated to me in Noida Car Market that the OSRAMs have a 1 year replacement warranty.
I don't remember the name of the shop but I can give you an Idea about the location if you PM me.cheers:
