Swift DDiS with new RaceDynamics ECU for DIESEL!

Hi all,

We had this development going for quite some time... Thanks for the review wolf and ssjr

The CD0801-PF series of ECUs from Race Dynamics are designed and developed to be the affordable, feature rich, flexible and reliable common-rail diesel piggyback ECU. Some of its features-

1. Autotmotive spec electronics
2. High-end computer capable of handling more than 25 cars in parallel
3. Universal common rail diesel application
4. Directly connects to many OE systems, generic harness can be supplied for custom applications
5. 3 user selectable maps with option to switch to original ECU mode
6. Works closed-loop with self-learning ( production versions will have different algorithms though)

We will release pricing details shortly..

As for stability and reliability, we have tested all aspects of the system for over 3600km at all operating conditions . We have also exposed them to extreme conditions similar to those we do for our motorsport-spec systems.

We have decided to release these ECU premapped by us, with the option of supplying custom tuning software to be decided based on user response.

i didn't quite get this "2. High-end computer capable of handling more than 25 cars in parallel".
i've heard of computers in handling in 32 bits, 64 bits etc. not in terms of cars.
Great to have competition though. How's the smoke factor as some have reported after using other piggy backs?
If no smoke, this is great news..

Well thats processing capability for handling that many engines (rails) all at the same time.. I thought it would be simpler to say this than quote processor figures

The most aggressive map has been a bit smoky. We are working on optimizing for minimal smoke, will update that result soon..

Just curious...
anybody has any idea how much does the incylinder pressure increase at each setting... I remember from some old post that this was the factor in which engine life depends on..

@Jomz - Yes, as of now. We are targeting to clock much more before our systems are available for sale.

@Kutlee - Boost is left untouched at OE spec.

but is there provision to handle higher boost? i.e if the turbo is upgraded or a boost controller is added? or if we are using a VGT that is capable of putting out more boost than its stock settings?

This is some real good news. I indeed spotted this Swift being tested on the outer ring road. A copper shaded swift with RD stickers and 205s.

Karthik, do you have plans for any dyno tests?

Very very inspiring. Closely watching this thread. Some questions that come to my mind.

Does the FE drop significantly in different map settings?
More than smokiness - how is pollution (CO etc) changing?
Is it truly plug/play - easy to remove before service?
Accelerated oil change/maintenance intervals?
Has it been tested on older Commonrail systems (Accent CRDis/DiCOR)?
When does it go on sale, and in what price bracket (I'm assuming not too different from Pete's!)

Akshay, it can be an all new ECU or it can be a piggy back, it cant be both. At least that's what I thought. Am I wrong?

I have a feeling its a piggyback. With the option to switch back to the original ecu as and when required.
