Iceman, don't the engine pistons and crankshaft need to be modified to take the extra power and torque. Also what is the impact on engine life?

upto 7-9 psi the stock will last..anything above that you need forged internals.
engine life reduced quite a bit!!!

Sweet as TCs are they cost a bomb!!! I tried getting one from the second hand market in coimbatore. they had a couple of toyota turbo diesels from which i could have the TCs but was not sure about their condition... finally decided a NA car running properly is better than a TCed one sitting in the garage.

The TCs are still available there as of last week. If anyone is interested you could pick it up from there i guess. the guy was quoting about 6k for it but you can get it for 2k if you quote about 800 RS for it down right!

Ok here is the info as promised.

Fork IKON 1.6L Petrol Rocam Engine
Duration: 5 months

Work Carried out by us
• Complete body kit – bumpers, spoiler, hood, running board, fenders
• High Lift Cam from PIPER – BP270
• Head polishing, porting and facing
• Free flow 4x2x2 exhaust system from Magnaflow
• MSD ignition system
• Denso Iridium spark plugs
• KNN air filter – EXTREME series
• FSE Power boost Valve
• N1 Racing Short shift Gear Lever
• Mr. Gasket Open exhausts system
• MOMO pedals and steering wheel
• Sun Automobile voltage stabilizer
• NOS 05130 kit (+75bhp)
• APC Racing Seats
• N1 Racing wing spoiler
• AutoTecknic LED Bulbs
• KYB Coil over Gas Suspension
OUTPUT (tested on GTECH)
STOCK POWER 91bhp NOW POWER 100bhp +75 with NOS
TOP SPEED 190 kmph TOP SPEED NOW 200 kmph 0-100 13 seconds NOW 0-100 11 seconds

i dunno..cause u can chip it to 180+..and then up the boost from there....cars that come from the factory stock turbo...are much more easier to mod..cause the engine has already been tested to take the extra stress..and the 1.8T engine in the octavia RS..is a tried and tested engine..boatload of mods u can do.

hey montoya...sorry to shatter your dreams
that ikon cannot be more than 140 bhp!!! also if its a 75 bhp kit it does not mean the car has gone up by 75 bhp!!!!!!!!!
according to your calculations then my baleno is 230bhp!!! impossible...also gtech is one of the most unreliable devices to measure bhp.
also if you read the list 40% of the "mods" are cosmetic not power enhancing.
@ cali look at the weight issues of the skoda!! same reason why an e-zen is faster than a vtec!! also we were talking only of a chipped skoda...but if he has gone all out he too will be fast

Sounds like something's not been done right...you should have got at least 30 hp from all these mods.

Just out of ignorance guys, where will be the power band at what revs??? Even if the car has gained extra bhp will it be useful in accelerating or will it be useful for toping up speeds??

thats wat i was wondering 9 bhp can be achieved by a headers and a filter itself

Hey iceman it didnot shatter my dreams..
Lols cause it aint my car.. I would never ever work on a Ikon and as it is i hate that car.. if i had to work on a car it would be a baleno. This aint my car i just copy pasted it from their site.. Frankly speaking even i was wondering how only 9 bhp with soo many mods anywayz they have done some mods on a Amby and its produces some 100+ BHP..

its a joke man also if they have such a high degree cam..what about the computer?? the stock ecm cannot handle it.
