That's a quick Baleno, you've got there.

So anything new in the pipeline then? Suspension, tyres, exhaust?
RIMS! Need some nice 7J rims for the 205s, then suspension, will get my spare suspension set completely lowered and stiffened

Re: My Turbo charged Baleno - now 116 whp @ 6psi Edit:145whp at 11 psi!

Finally got to see the discussion on the BMW being whooped by the baleno at the Speedway drags!!

I happened to be there at the start line during the race and want to clarify something here. When both the cars were asked to back up a bit at the start line, our boy in the BMW forgot to disengage from the reverse gear. So when the christmas tree went green, the BMW went BACK (as he was still in reverse gear). By the time he could put it back in gear and start racing, the baleno was way ahead. There was no way the beemer could have caught up with baleno.

i was very impressed by the baleno when it pulled up at the start line..was a pleasure hearing the turbo!! (Please make sure she makes some noise though) i did come by to check out the baleno after the drag but there was no one by the car. There was the Race dynamics team but they were working on the white accord.

I drive a baleno myself and it's always nice to see your favourite car beating the beemers and mercs of the world

Take a look at the alloys on my Swift. You may like them if you like deep dish alloys.

Cheers

Brilliant stuff Binoy! For the tyres, nothing less than Neovas will do. Try to import a set from Singapore or something.

@Binz

I was gonna get Neovas, but they cost around 8.5k a pop !! My car does not YET have that kind of power - so opted for the S-Drive.

If you want 4 Neovas, I may be able to help

Cheers

According to Red Rooster Performance, this is about 182 Bhp at the wheels! Will post some pictures later, for now here is the Dyno Graph.
Binz, congratulations on the build! What is the graph against? The 116hp/127lbft doesn't look stock.

Thanks dude, it might be quicker but at the end of the day I wouldn't mind a V6 Accord over a Baleno!

Nice to know what actually happened, I did see the car fumble during the start from the corner of my eye but I didn't see it go backwards. I hope I get another opportunity to line up with that car again to see how I fare against it. Wont be going for the drag tomorrow, but I will break into the 14s soon!

Dude! I already have brand new BFG's and Advans are way too expensive. I said I need new rims since I'm running 205s on 5.5j steel wheels.

Hey Ricky, Not too keen on Advans since I'm still on stock suspension. I'm also scared of them! The BFGs keep me cornering at saner speeds.

Thanks man .. The graph is against the previous run at 6psi. You can find that graph v/s stock on post 94.

Re: My Turbo charged Baleno - now 116 whp @ 6psi Edit:145whp at 11 psi!

So a quick update, have completed 25000km with the car being turbocharged. Initially there were a number of problems with the leaky CT-12 but once the VI-21 was put in , i can say without a doubt that i've had the most fun in this car than any other I've sat in.

That said, its time to move on and I have my eyes on a '06 Elantra. Have put up the entire turbo kit for sale, bolt-on 90bhp increase for Rs 55,000/-
You can have a look at the ad here

If you're looking at turbocharging your baleno/swift on a budget , look no further!
