My Turbo charged Baleno - now 116 whp @ 6psi Edit:145whp at 11 psi!

So after i string of good deals, I log in one morning to find THIS in the classifieds section. Immediately sent him an E-mail and after nearly a week of mailing the turbo kit was delivered home on Monday afternoon.

I took the car to the garage(SAG) this morning,Psycho and Vasu were waiting for me and things got started.I just got back home after nearly 11 hours in the garage watching every single bolt go in,every nut tightened and every weld take place.

Since its more or less a bolt on kit, expected turn around time is two days and with 50% of the work done today, the car should be back tomorrow.

So here are the specs :

Turbo misc
  • Toyota CT-12 turbo
  • Mild-steel turbo manifold
  • PWR 26" front mount intercooler
  • Turbosmart Type-1 BOV
  • Turbosmart manual boost controller(tee)

Fueling
  • FSE Fuel pressure regulator + Spitfire In cabin 2" Fuel pressure gauge
  • Subaru Impreza 380cc injectors

Engine Misc
  • Stage II Port and polish
  • Port matched Intake manifold
  • 48mm enlarged throttle body
  • K&N RC-5149
  • Straight through exhaust with custom twin tip muffler
  • Suzuki Cultus Close-ratio gearbox
  • Exedy Clutch
  • Racedynamics Standalone engine management
  • Sard boost and oil pressure gauges

Thanks!

The superfast decision making was because I was on the lookout for parts, and this fitted the bill perfectly!

Mumbai is too far a drive just to get the car dynoed! .. will wait for the dyno to open in blr or coimbatore

I'm chasing reliability first .. Though i would be extremely satisfied if it does 100 in under 9 seconds.

What's the CR of a stock Baleno engine? Keeping it stock? Changing cams anytime soon? Is that the intake travelling all around the engine?

Is it LPG?

Is your car still running on LPG after the addition of the turbo kit. LPG and turbo's do not mix as far as I know unless the LPG kit is sequential injection variety with individual gas injectors.

Stock CR is 9.0:1. Since this isn't a high boost or drag setup, we're keeping it stock. For the time being atleast ..

The kit was put on sale by neo_trace for 30k. I wanted the intercooler and the BOV so it came up to a little more than 40 totally. Then there is the ecu and labour, injectors etc .. Will post up the price once its done. Never checked the 0-100 bro!

Hey, neo_trace was running lpg since he couldn't get his fueling issues sorted.
This time it will be running on petrol with the rd ecu controlling fueling ..

Nice,
Just a small suggestion, since your exhaust manifold is very close to intake pipe,A.C condenser pipe & A.C condenser, it will be good to use Heat wrap with some insulating material so that extra heat generated by turbo will not take its toll on A.C functioning & rise in intake air temp.

At what RPM does turbo spool in? Considering Indian weather conditions an oil cooler is recommended for street setup since it will help to keep overall temp down there by increasing reliability of entire setup.
