Opera browser claims its fraud site.

When I clicked on the link shop4hella the opera raised a warning sign cautioning me that the site is fraudulent. So whats up with the site? Has anyone bought from the site because I badly need original Driving HID lights for my CruzeLT.

The one I want to buy is the Jumbo320 Xenon Driving.

Rajeshsundaram can you PM the number of the some Hella official in chennai?

I bought a Hella Redgrill and got it fixed but somehow i feel it is not in the right place, the horn seems to be touching somewhere so the exact sound output is'nt there.

I looked around the shop4hella site (Chrome does not give any warning) looking for a horn upgrade, but am not sure about the sound of each horn. Any pointers, anyone? Am looking at upgrading the Honda Activa sounding stock horns that come in my Getz

Unpacking Hella Rallye 500 FF - Driving lights

Earlier I planned to post the unpacking and fitting pics of Hella Rallye 500FF in my alto. But things are not going as planned. Wifey wanted to visit Tirupathi temple this weekend. So I have postponed the fitting to next week. And decided to post the unpacking pictures for this week. Enjoy!

PS : Yeah.. inspired by the "Unpacking of iPhone, iMac etc etc" sort of posts I keep reading in the net.

PPS : Sorry about the photo quality. They were shot using my old-but-gold Nokia 6233. But I've photoshopped and enhanced them a bit.

Here goes :
The Hella rallye 500FF box, with a ruler and a compact disc shown, to give you an idea of relative size. The white hella circle in the box is actually the stone guard of one of the lights. Transparent packing on one side.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking1.jpg

Opening the box top..
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking2.jpg

Neat compartmentalized packaging.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking3.jpg

It is safe to roll the box down, and pull the carton sideways, instead of pulling up.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking4.jpg

So here is a lamp with stone guard. A neat design with bold HELLA monogram. I love that!

Taking the lamp out. Note the neat carved design to hold the lamp.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking6.jpg

To get the other parts, you need to roll the box below.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking7.jpg

And open a cover...
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking8.jpg

Here comes the Wiring and cables pack. Note the other lamp safely tucked inside the third compartment.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking9.jpg

Pulling the lamp out. The lamp is not so heavy, one can easily handle it with just one hand. My guess.. somewhere around 300gms or more.

Remember the middle compartment from where I took Wiring and cables? it had two such packets of metal-alloy clamps and screws.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking11.jpg

And a Relay component...
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking12.jpg

In the cable pack, there is a Illuminated Switch with wire, which can be used to fit in the dashboard. No need to use some after market switches. Everything comes with the package.
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking13.jpg

With that, all the components are out, and laid together.. oh yes, there is a detailed instruction manual too which I did not bother to shoot.

And finally, here goes the lamp with stone guard removed...

Holding the lamp to shoot in a slightly different angle
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking16.jpg

Lamp's side to show the screw fitment hole
The Hella Experience - 500 FF-hella500ffunpacking17.jpg

Finally, a lamp with CD to show the relative size

Wow! Next week i will install these babies in my Alto and will post the pics too.

Oh yes, thanks to JustCause, who pinged me about the status. Though I couldn't fit them this week as I told him, I will be doing that next week with out fail. Thanks mate.

@ph03n!x
The hella red grills should give you a good tone which is quite good for citys as well as highway drivings. You can get in touch with Johnson of Hella to get more suggestion. PM me for his phone number.

Probably this is the first unpacking thread I am seeing for something other than an iPod, iPad, Mac or an iPhone unpacking threads being posted on numerous Apple forums.

Looks like the start of another informative thread. Not many pictures and installation procedures are posted on automobile lighting as compared to the many threads seen in the ICE section.

Great effort. keep it coming!

@ri,

I bought these genuines from Haute Car Zone (OMR, Chennai), referred by Johnson of Hella. He takes care of the sales in south zone. I suggest you can get in touch with him to find out a genuine outlet in your city (Bangalore, right?). I'll PM his number to you.

And yes, they cost Rs.5k. Felt it was worth when I saw the technician showing me the light demo. Focused and pointed, and definitely the quality makes a big difference compared to cheap chinese makes.

Thanks Maibaa! After reading your reply, I did a quick search and yes I think I made a proper "unpacking" thread and it could be the first one here. Hehe..

In B'lore, 500FFs are available for Rs3750 from the Hella distributor, Magik Cars on JC road.
And here is my installation of 500FF on my Safari.

Nice lights. Is Haute the only place in Chennai where you can get them? I'm asking this as Haute is known to be a little expensive.
