I have been using NBP in my Fabia since quite a long period. They are good option (but not the Best IMO) only in view of 'No violation of Warranty' benefit. And yes, there has been an improvement in Brightness in comparison with the stock ones.

And as the warranty period is over now, I am planning to upgrade to 100/90 setup (of course, duly with Relay, Harness & Ceramic holders) very soon.
Suggestions please.

If opting for HID's . which is the best one? And any recommended shops in Bangalore here i can get it done..

Answer to your questions:
1. Yes, Philips X-treme Vision 60/55W upgrade does not affect the warranty since the bulb ratings are same. Checked with Honda before changing them.

2. The difference is clearly noticeable as the stock bulbs are very weak and their beam are not focussed. Whereas with Philips the beam in focused on the road and enhances visibility.

During my expressway drives in monsoon, I was practically blinded with no vision whatsoever with high beams from opposite side, in the stock bulbs. I immediately shifted to Philips X-Treme, now atleast I'm aware where the lane is :)
It costed Rs.1100/- in Mumbai.

Cheers!!

Hii !

I did some highway driving this weekend, & OEM headlamps are not at all satisfactory in my esteem. Owe it to low height or weak bulbs, it just got too risky .

I need to upgrade my bulbs within 1-1.5K including relay & ceramic holders cost. Is it possible to get one with a white light as well? I skimmed through some posts, & are philips 100/105 w something available in white as well?
And mine is a LXi, so i wish to install fog lamps in OEM locations. Is it recommended & where to get one & the price also please?

Thanks . Cheers

You can definitely upgrade to 90/100w. White bulbs are also available but wont get the pure white output as seen in HIDs. Only a tinge of white light will be visible.
Since you are looking for better visibility, stick with OEM color temperature (4300k).

Where in Bangalore I can buy Neolite 1010 model? Any pointers for this with contact number? As per once recent post, it is retailing Rs. 850 a pair without wiring harness. He purchased in Pune.

Also, it look like similar to Hella 700FF. :D

HELP ! please:

Installed Halonix 100/90 with Minda Relay kit + Roots windtone & relay. I am facing a very weird problem.

When on high beam: LHS headlight is high, RHS is low
When on low beam: RHS is high, LHS is low.

What to do? I am really confused.

Looks like some issue with the relay, I had a similar issue and the relay had to be replaced and it worked fine after the relay wad changed.

Hope it helps

Reinstalling tubes may help - they could be upside down. This was a problem I encountered in early 90's.

No need to worry. The wiring to one the bulbs is interchanged. Did you use a wiring harness?

This could most probably be an issue with the harness unless the installer cut the original wires. Chances of the relay being at fault are minimum while not wholly impossible.

Most harnesses come with a female socket to which one of the original headlamp plugs is attached. This is where the Hi/Lo control is taken from. However if a harness is not used, the wiring is done manually by tapping into the original headlamp plug for the relay signal.

Take it back to the installer and have him exchange the relay first. This is the simplest step. If that does not work, the wiring has to be changed.

Ensure that you use a harness. Do not have them cut/splice/attach any wires. This is important since this is a high wattage system and will fail if jugaad is employed. A quality harness from Roots will set you back by around INR400. I've been using one on my car for over a year without any issues. And it was a DIY project.

Hope this helps :)

By harness you mean the whole relay setup? I got one for 600 INR by minda. It has a relay, plastic clad thick wires , ceramic plugs. As much as i remember , he didn't cut any wire. The bulbs were replaced and holders were connected directly in a very clean way , both to the battery & bulbs. For horns, he had cut a few wires to attach a relay. Thanks mate, will go back today in the evening itself to get relay & connections checked.

There are ridges and notches, it would not be possible now unless he tried VERY hard to sock it in.
Wiring seems to be more likely, as mentioned below.

Has anyone gotten fog lamps fixed on their Santro recently?? Mine had given up almost 5 years ago and never bothered replacing.
Checked out my local accessory shop. He had a brand called 'Ocean' - 2 models for 700/- and 1200/- a pair. How long can I expect these price range lamps to last? One guy was getting the 700 one fixed on his Alto K10 when I was there. It was not a perfect fit and there was quite a big gap between the lamp and the surrounding cladding.
Is it wise to go for original ones from the A$$? I guess it comes for 3-4 k, but am not sure how long they'll last either.

Also, day time running LED's are a good idea on a small hatch? What price range do they come in? Do they help in illumination at night?

:OT

How much did the Roots Windtone come for?? I'm asking cos someone had quoted 1200 bucks in my town which I thought was kinda high.
Got Bosch Symphony fixed from another fella today.

It's way too high ! I asked 2 retailers, one of em quoted 600 , other one 550. I got mine for 550 , but the margin was already thin, so he didn't give any additional discounts. 1200 is way too steep !

Bang on ! It was the connection. Got it repaired, The wires (3) attached to the ceramic holder of RHS bulb were mixed up. clap:

BTW White light somewhat gets cancelled/diffused when adequate street lights are there. Overall, very happy with the setup. Thanks guys !
