Buy two pairs of Hella horns (approx. Rs. 55o per pair). Use one pair as normal with a relay but additionally connect the high tone horn from the second pair through the relay so you have three horns (two high and one low) on the same horn button. Awesome crisp sound and very effective. Have been using this combination for the last five years and no issues. Clears the ricks, bikes and pedestrians. Only problem is the one unused extra horn which is wasted. :)

After reading this thread I looked under my (car's) hood to see which horn is installed, as the horn has a switch on the dash with which I can disable it. And I was very happy to see these two blow horns & now I understood why the auto & bikers move immidiately when I start to horn.
I normally dont use horn, I normally use headliht blinking, but when the vehicloe ahead dont react I use horn and that works.

See what is installed (i think is a set of blow horns)

You really need to clean your engine bay more often, man!

I genuinely second GTO. Modified Sachin,that engine bay would later on add to days of agony along with low FE (due to clogged air filter),and what not. It really needs thorough cleaning ASAP.

Hi kpzen,

Was checking out horns at Milan Subway yesterday and inquired about the Stebel Nautilus. It is available for Rs.800 + fitting.

However, the shop guy suggested I should NOT fit these as first of all they are banned by the RTO and secondly, being air horns they suck in air (dusty in our country) and get clogged with dirt after 6 months to a year depending on usage. He said he has had quite a few complaints about them and in fact had stopped stocking them. They were available at a day's notice if I wanted.

Would suggest you do a re-think on this - or else fit a filter (K & N ???!!!!!)lol: before the intake of the horn.

I visited another shop at Lokhandwala yesterday to inquire about the Stebel Nautilus. He had it in stock on the shelf but point blank refused to sell it to me as he said he had too many complaints about this horn and knowing how particular I am baout my car, he was sure I would be back in a couple of months.
Price was Rs. 750/=.

there are many varieties in ROOTS . I got one for my swift for Rs 500 . Its awesome. I forgot the model. It is similar to the stock horns of SKODA

Using Fiam Windtone for a long time and it works very well to get the autos and buses to budge and that too in Bangalore ;-). Good thing is that although it's loud but not that loud to get the cops irritated. And if someone says that horn is a safety device in India then he is very right, saved many time by horn, it's loud enough even for the bus drivers to back off. Stebel Nautilus and hellas are definitely louder then this but they may attract the cops too. It costed me approx 1000 Rs along with the wiring and relay.

Where would I get Red Grills in Delhi? Does it make sense to remove the stock horns or should I keep them as an option? Also, would positioning the horns behind the grill make more sense?

Read the thread well anantnehru.There are countless suggestions about how to go about fitting horns.Usual practice is to go for a toggle switch in dash,and retaining the older horn (thats what I have done too,check out 'view my garage' if you want !).Its upto you my friend,but read the thread to get good ideas.

Any specific place in Kashmere Gate? Probably heading there tomorrow, otherwise any other place in South Delhi?

I wanted to change my Alto's horn to something like roots windtone or Bosch.

My Lancer already came with OE with Bosch symphony horn which went kaput after i drove into water. I changed these with Roots windtone very easily.

I believe it is not as easy in the Alto as it may need some change in wiring/relay. I do not want the OE horn just the new roots windtone type horn. Do I still need to change some wiring/relay or straightaway just disconnect old and connect new one in.

I recently installed a Mico Windtone horn ( I guess it is also called the Bosch symphony) in my Civic after my Stebel Nautilus gave up on me after a year of usage.

Liked the horn, its loud but at the same time not very intruding. Cost me Rs 750 including installation.
