Honda CBR 250

Hi All,

I wanted to let all those buyers who want to buy the CBR 250 but are not buying it as there is waiting period for the bike.

Even I was of the same experience and hence started scouting for another bike.

Though one day I walked into the Honda Showroom for enquiring about the CBR and was surprised to know that the bike is available of the counter with out any waiting period. I mean you have to make the full payment and if you don't have any colour choice then you will get the bike asap. 8 days max and you can get your bike. Hope this info will help someone.

MODS: Don't know if this info warranted a new thread, merge if you feel so accordingly.

Regards,
Kailash

Re: Honda CBR 250

How I wish this is true across all the dealers. I already own a CBR 250r but when a friend of mine wanted to buy one, he was told by two different dealers that the waiting period is around 3 months without a promised delivery date. There was one cancellation of a silver bike standard and dealer was more than pleased to offer the same as they have checked with other wait list folks and none are keen on that color. However as his preference was red or black he was told to wait. Not sure if silver is has less preference over other two colors though I personally like all three of them.

Can you tell us which showroom in Mumbai ?

I had heard that many showrooms are offering rejected bookings to "off the counter" full cash customers instead of passing it on to the next booking number, and I am assuming your case falls under this category.

Re: Honda CBR 250

Well Salunkhe - I tried 3 different showrooms and the story was the same. In fact if you make full payment official wait time is 45 days as per them.

The showrooms that I tried - Mulund Sai Honda - near Nirmal Lifestyle, Vihaan Honda - Ghodbunder Road Thane, and Sai Honda Thane. All three have the same story. Make full payment and if the colour is available the will allot. If your choice colour is not available then 45 days max waiting period. They are ready to give it in writing too if required.

By the way I am not the full cash customer and even with Finance option they are ready to comply.

Mulund has Red STDs and Black ABS available
Vihaan has Black and Red ABS as well as std available.
Sai Honda has all three colours in STD and ABS

so anyone interested can visit these showrooms and get their bikes booked. Hope this helps everyone.

Yesterday, my son had a test ride at Planet Honda, Bangalore. He was told the bike is readily available without any waiting period.

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

Final Update
Got my ride in the evening yesterday. Apparently they fixed it!!, iv'e checked it to see if they actually replaced it with a marking which i left on it and they didn't. All the radiator fins are 95% straight although not like the stock radiator fins straight. It looked like pretty decent job to what they have done.
I didn't have time to chat with the service mgr as i had to run to office, i will be meeting him this Saturday as they wanted to discuss few things with me.
He has informed me that all hyderabad cbr owner's will be called in to check in with their radiator's fins.

I have done a test towards my bike as now i notice the radiator's fan switches on "less" than earlier. Will post in on how i did the radiator test later.

Feedback session with the Engineers

Hello Guys,

I got a call from the service center folks and they have asked me to bring along the bike with the list of issues I am facing and things that I feel need attention.

There will be 1 or 2 Japanese Engineers with a Sr. Guy from manufacturing/assembling unit in India. At this time they only want to have a word with any folks who got their bikes from initial lots.

Do let me know if there are any things in particular which any of one of you might want me to share. I will also share a list of things I plan to highlight during my interaction with them.

Am scheduled to meet them on Tue, Oct 11 @ 11:00am.

Also, thank you Nosfreak for your update. Do let us know any change you might feel since the radiator has been worked on. Though it will be negligable, but just in case you do feel any change do keep up posted.

I do place the laptop on a pair of raincoats which adds up as a cushion. The cortech tailbag comes with a raincover and works excellent.

Check these links. I would say a VFM product.

This is what i thought or rather read and went for the tailbags.
Only ensure that the laptop is shutdown and not that it is in hibernate/sleep mode.

The similar incident with me too. Had booked Silver but they told it would take 3 more months, so settled for red. But the Silver looks really good.

Yes, that's a mesh jacket and comes with a removable lining for monsoons & winter.

The jacket is pretty breezy and no heat issues. Tried it yesterday for a ride and liking the overall feel of it.

They had the guts to tell me that Silver despite putting up on order twice hasn't been dispatched.

Honda's feed-back team despite being contacted twice in the past two weeks is yet to respond.

I am adamant on fresh stock & have refused picking up the bike/s lying around. A red is being dispatched today. This week-end or early next week...

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

I was riding my friends brand new CBR today (with 300 kms on the ODO) and realized that the neutral indicator light wasn't working. Any idea what may be the problem? I am pretty sure the whole digital console will be a sealed unit. Or is there a chance of it just being a loose connecting wire or something?
