Good to hear that. Are these technicians from the dealer or Honda directly ?
I know they will tell this is fine sir, it happens, nothing to worry, etc. Ask them to give it in writing and take a photograph of it, right in front of them.

Keep us posted about it.

That's great news and I hope they are sending the right set of people now.

I agree with RK_Sans, do take a note from them stating that this should be fine. And just in case any issues pertaining to this arise in the future, you can grill them and have them for dinner someday.

Do keep us posted and thanks for the update.

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

Hi,
Someone was mentioning to me that the CBR250R is now readily available, though the dealers try to say no. Is that true?

Also, does anyone know how to decipher the VIN for this bike.

Regards
Sutripta

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

Update:

Two service reps came down today. Again from Fortune motors however from the nearby dealership neaby my place. Explained everything to them again. However from my perspective these guys never really came down to say yes it is a problem. Infact that have seen other cbr's radiator which almost looks the same!!! which shouldn't be a problem.
Anywayz they took out a picture and gave me a job card to sign with radiator fins damaged mentioned. They will be sending the pictures to the company and will await for their reply in 2 or 3 days. I clearly mentioned to them that even If the company says "its okay" to give me a written confirmation saying so. So now i'll have to just wait and hopefully to get a proper resolution to it.

Offtopic : The service supervisor mentioned that they will be building a special room near my area made to service the cbr's and other honda's premium vehicles mainly. Hopefully the keep their word to it.

Yamaha seems to be better, atleast they have a separate service bay with a special room (Full air conditioned) to handle the premium bike. Also would this mean that if a person shells out 11 Odd lakhs on a CB will get it serviced alongside commuter bikes?
Always thought that these premium bikes deserve a separate setup with specially trained mechanics/tools to look into it.

Apologies if am digressing from the topic.

Expected the same from them, so just take in writing whatever it is. Did you mention to them that it was the negligence of the washing guy which has caused this. If yes, what was the answer to that ?

Mahesh,
The mech who worked on my bike during service also did mention that, they are setting up a separate AC room for CBR servicing.
Will be visiting them in a day or so for oil change, will check out what is the progress on it.

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

I did not ride for the last one month due to Ramzan fasting.

Took the bike for a short ride today after first service. The bike feels smooth, gear shifting is smooth and performance has improved - shoots to 100 kmph easily. I am loving it, waiting for weekend to hit the highway..

Hi,

As far as I know, all Honda premium bikes are sold at separate showrooms (called Honda Wing World) and serviced separately then commuter bikes.

Pain area is that the conventional honda commuter dealers are selling the CBR250 and not the premium bike showrooms (for better market penetration).

But even for the CBR250, the service station where I completed my first CBR service had a separate CBR bay with separate mechanics to handle the bike. Only problem was that the washing area was common for all bikes.

Re: Honda CBR 250R - Initial Ownership Review

Seems like Honda's cost-cutting has affected the colour of the fairings as well. All 3 colours of the bike seem to have certain parts of the fairing in silver. Whereas in other countries, the black version seems to be fully black.

International:

Indian:

Pity. The all-black version looks a hundred times better. I'm going to get replacement fairings from the US and sell mine to any unlucky soul who drops his bike.

Sorry If I have missed something somewhere, but have you got one for yourself?

And don't you think getting the silver parts painted to black will be a better and cost effective method than getting parts from all the way from US.

Honda has already come out as "other accessories" on this but still they do not have spares available yet.
They have the gloss finish of the black plastics also now.

On the way, yes. Should be here before the 2nd week of next month; hopefully this month. Why?

As for repainting, I'll only do it if the quality is as good as the factory finish. Not otherwise.

I didn't get you. Are they selling black versions of the sub-fairings as accessories?

Just curious. Can you buy OEM parts over the counter for DIY installs? Or is that forbidden like with Honda car dealerships?

1. yes. One of the cbr owner had posted them in facebook. Again availability is unknown like the spares.
2. I doubt if they are selling it over the counter.
