Congrats on the acquisition. Very detailed review about the pros and cons. I personally somehow like the V2.0 design than the old one.

Congratulations. Good write up and a detailed pictorial representation. That rear can easily pass off as an r6. Ride Safe.

How is the low end torque of R15 as compared to RTR180?Do you need to change gears quite often in city and on speedbreakers?

Well, the low end torque has improved over the previous version. not much but marginally. I personally did not find it as big a issue on the R15 1.0 though.
This is a result of the New ECU.

I did use a tank pad for a month almost, but it got spoiled due to my jacket zip rubbing against it. So i took it off.

The tank-pad is there to take the brunt & save your tank.
Get Yamaha's original OE tank-pad which retails for INR Rs 700 and it will save your tank from unwanted blemish.

Without a tank-pad is a strict no no. You may also get fancy ones from PRS or other shops.

I did check out the OEM Yamaha Tank pads. But they had red and grey colour ones which would not suit my bike.

Can you suggest a store in Mumbai (if you know of) or any website listing such accessories?

The Factory outlet in Malad, Mumbai did not have the black ones. Probably they were out of stock.

That's a nice review there. Looking forward to the 2K milestone although I am a long way from it.

I recently got my first servicing done and got the tank pad from the service center. You can have a look. Goes well if you see it in person and pretty good quality. Not a sticker only but a hard molded plastic vinyl. It fits in perfectly to the tank curves.

Part Number : Y6ATPR15CB11
Price : 415 INR

When did you service your bike? Was it a 1-2 weeks back? Because I got my bike serviced a month back and the Factory Outlet did not have this

You are welcome. Try calling them before going cause the orders are placed before hand itself. When I had called my service station, they said it is coming on 5Feb2012 but I just tried my luck and they indeed received it a day before.
