The CBR mostly should trump the Akula in all the above departments that you quoted which are important for you. Except maybe the braking department. And reliability, well no on paper specs are going to tell that

Do we know if TVS Akula shares the gear box also with BMW G310R?

In all probability, the power-train will be carried over with major change being the fairings around the bike.

Re: TVS Akula 310 unveiled

Read an Overdrive article stating that their birdie confirms that the Akula will be launched this year itself. OD speculates a November launch.

I seriously hope they launch Akula this year but according to rushlane.com, the launch has again been nudged to March-2018

Just now read an Autocar exclusive about TVS forming an internal division for premium motorcycles including Akula. They also kind of confirm a mid-late Nov launch. Will have to wait & see.

Spotted again, seems production ready. The rear view mirrors have been finally moved to the fairing.

Re: TVS Akula 310 unveiled

I know I am pretty late for this comment but still, I have to ask this. Does the rear seating arrangement looks like Yamaha R15 2.0 seating? Would it also make the pillion look like seating at first floor of any building while the rider being on the ground floor? It looks awkward and ugly. Please someone prove me wrong.

Yes it definitely looks a bit higher, attached is another current Spy pic, now with a tyre hugger, suggests we are getting more and more closer to the launch. Not sure if it looks ugly, but ya the pillion will be sitting a bit higher. My take on this is that this is a track focused bike, so i guess the idea is the rider will usually be riding alone. If touring is the main objective of the rider, then he/she should probably be looking elsewhere.

My friend, how are you so sure?
The engine has been developed by BMW, who don't generally make "unrefined" machines.
Reviews abroad have not mentioned any complaints regarding NVH, of this particular engine. Lets wait and watch, how it fares in the Akula.

Re: TVS Akula 310 unveiled

Another day, another video. Test rider seems to be cnfirming a Jan launch, but then he might just be saying that to get the person making video, off his tail.

Is the launch panned for tomorrow? Found this floating in some biking groups.

Re: TVS Akula 310 unveiled

Looks like an adventure motorcycle or one of TVS' Motocross bikes. Maybe something to do with a Motocross event?? Definitely not an Akula and definitely not the 310GS. I doubt TVS would put up a teaser for BMW.
