I stand corrected...hope I didnt offend your sentiments regarding this work of art. Didnt in any way mean to take anything away from the wonderful work done.

I am little confused as to how the smaller rear and a marginally thicker rear tyre would affect handling and performance adversely. Care to educate me?

Oh no!! No offense taken buddy!! If you felt my tone was aggressive, I apologize. I only wanted to say the objectives of the mods carried out!!

You said meatier tyre not smaller and thicker(wider??). So took your suggestion as thicker tyre!!!

Anyways, the idea of using thinner tyres was to reduce the weight. True the wider tyres provide good grip but a thinner tyre made of softer compound can provide good grip as well (We can see the R15 as an example!!). Also wider tyres require alloys which weigh more than the alloys required for tinner tyres. The alloys of this bike are also changed to match the thinner tyres!! Its just my guess, the total weight reduced by this tyres and wheels combination is around 4 KGs!!!

Good to know that the Uni has lost some weight. Can you share us the details

The only mod I had done on my Unicorn is to reduce the preload on the rear mono-shock to soften up the ride. The softest of the factory setting was hard for me so I had increased the spring length by reducing the gap indicated in the picture below.

+ ves

the ride is much more compliant but not to the extent I have liked and the saddle height has dropped by a couple of inches.

-Ves

As a result of this mod sometimes I an unable to get the side stand off while being seated as the ground clearance has come down

With two on board the bike tends to scrape over huge speed beakers and potholes as the GC has decreased and the suspension becoming soft

BMW E46 X5 E64 06-09 RED BI XENON PROJECTOR HID HOLDER : eBay Motors (item 250614063191 end time Jun-11-10 07:51:39 PDT)

the above ad from EBAY says the following:

This auction for a pair ( two projectors ) bi-xenon Kendrion projectors from 06-09 OEM BMW X5, 6 series, 3 series, these projectors used both bulbs: D2S, D1S, bulb holders and bulbs are NOT included, 3" lenses, very bright, used, the solenoids are tested and functional in excellent condition. No scratch or broken on lenses. The reflector bowls are shiny as new. You will get as the pictures. These projectors are popular in most BMW and Mercedes headlights.

The solenoids look like either one of those pictures shown year from 06-08.

The solenoid wires connector will come with difference colors.

Dimension in inches of projector: L: 5.5" - W: 4" - D: 3.5"

Item sold as is, no returns or exchanges, final sale.

You have responsibility for your install. Any question please, ask before made purchase.

now thats the link i was looking up in the ebay, i intend to buy that or a similar set and i need you guys to tell me which bulbs to buy for these and which hid kit to go with.

also the pros and cons of fitting this on my bike would be great. i have not touched the electricals of the bike, i just played with the engine and the body works for better performance and stability and ofcourse sitting posture and blah blah... i shall talk about that in the report.

but what are the pros and cons of installing this bixenon projector? and suitably which HID kit do i pick up, that would suit this projector?, what are my feasibility options and any info is greatly appreciated.

the reason for choosing this projector is because its shutter type, ( i would also like to know if the shutter is going to take a little more power than my bike can provide to both HID and this?) this means i would have both High beam and Low beam light at the same time.

are there going to be electrical issues if i run the HID on the stock AC set up for longer times?

do i have to upgrade to a relay with bigger wires? should i put in a 9AH battery as against the stock 7AH.

i do understand i have a lot of Newbie questions about this, so please help me here.

the idea is to still keep the bike a naked roadster with say a more aerodynamic headlight such as CB Twister's or Dazzler's.

i surely want to get rid of the round head light if am able to get my hands on this setup and find a way to work it out. so guys please do help me.

EDIT:
guys i would appreciate it if i am able to get the replies as soon as possible, because i ahave a couple of friends coming down from abroad who can carry this and HID kit down for me if i tell them at the earliest ( they are probably coming first week of june). thank you all in advance.

They sure look great. But I feel that you should look at a much easy solution. Like installing a P220 's projector lamps to a suitable naked looking assy. The electricals will have to be upgraded from 35W to 55 W I believe. Dont have much information on uping the electricals. I am sure its going to be easy for you.

Here is an example of such a mod:

Circular neon lights, with curved close visors would have a better look.
