in the list of bikes outside india, what do you mean by most variants sold in dubai ? and which Honda, BMW , Suzuki and Kawasaki did you own ?

Revtech,

I have been in Dubai for well many years (too long I feel). I work in the Insurance Industry and worked for Insurance Companies closely associated to Yamaha, Honda & BMW dealerships. Because of my biking interest, I usually become pally with Managers in the sections and the plus point is that I get invited to sample any new launch or new versions of bikes here- hence, "most variants". The downside of this relation is that often I am called up on to give insurance to "little pups" wanting to start riding an R1 just after getting their D/L.

I have owned a R6 and CBR only. All the others used courtesy of the manufacturers/friends

Can't recall hero honda ever released a model called rs100 in India. There first and longest living model (other than Splendour) was perhaps CD100.

Quite a number of bikers here, eh?

Well I'm admittedly more of a car guy, although I have ridden trips long/fast/tough enough to give any hardcore biker a run for his money.

Owned just one bike in my entire life - a 2004 Pulsar 180 DTSi which I still maintain like new. The bike started life with me fresh off the showroom in Kolkata, spent 2 years in Goa, 2 in Ahmedabad, now back again to Kolkata.

Also, if this means anything, I was an active member of the erstwhile Kolkata chapter of XBHP.

need your suggestions on a new bike

Greetings everyone,

Have been a bike enthusiast for many years now.

First ride was the humble Kinetic-Honda. Was the orignal Honda manufactured one, part of the first lot, just assembled in India, and boy was it an amazing. Ride it till date (almost 25 years now - the scooter).

Second bike was a Yamaha YD-125. Bad choice I know, but then, I was in college then, and was tight around the Pocket.

Looking for a new ride now. Have checked out the FZ-16, was almost going to book the same this week, but then I heard BAL's coming up with a new lineup of the P200's with FI, plus the Excise duty cuts. Gonna check with the PBK guys this weekend.

Wish me luck guys

My bikes have been lying idle for the past 6 years.
Suzuki Samurai (1996) -> Restoration to begin soon
Yamaha RD350 (1985, bought in 2001) -> Restoration in progress.
Yamaha RD350 (1985, bought in 2005 as a parts bike) -> Undecided on whether to cannibalize or restore . Mostly will be restored as a cafe racer.

Wishlist as of now:
Enfield Fury
Yezdi Roadking
Jawa 350
Shogun

wow bikes..! i started with the LML Vespa NV which belonged to our family and bought mine a Bajaj super and shifted to a Ind Suzuki lasted all my college life. mileage was a big constrain so when i upgraded, it was a samurai.. and always wished to have a shogun. Then i bought a Kawasaki SX Enduro and made it to a complete off roader. Multi linked monoshocks, and underseat exhaust were first of its kind in my town back in 1996. Then became the Bullet 1962 G2. I started feeling old after riding that for some time and bought my Pulsar 180 in 2002. In some time about 20000kms i swithced back to a Bullet and then to Thunderbird. I became a serious long distance rider and that was the time i manged to get a used Comet and soon added an Aquila. Another BSA B31 came in to my garrage and i had 4 bikes in my parking. Thunderbird got changed to Electra 5S and changed that to a Machismo 500 LB. Soon sold off all those bikes other than machismo to buy a Suzuki GSXR 600. The feel off riding a super bike came late when i actually seasoned up loosing out a lot of adrenaline rush.
