re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2022. Edit: It's the Royal Enfield Hunter 350!

Somehow none of the bikes on this list are exciting. I have not voted for anything in this list.

Voted Hunter 350.

Because it has brought the RE closer to the 150-200cc crowd than it ever was. Its sales and bookings are testament to the same.

As a product I find it to be the most attractive in their lineup due to its freshness in design, dimensions and pricing.
Hard to keep oneself from a 350cc modern retro which sells around the same price as some premium under 200cc commuters.

For some of these electric bikes from startups, the media drives are just done as a funding showcase. Actual launch and deliveries happen much latter. Another example - Simple Energy.

In the case of the Rorr - deliveries will happen much later in Q1 2023 as currently announced. Will include for next year once it is out.

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2022. Edit: It's the Royal Enfield Hunter 350!

Voted for the Suzuki VStrom250.

Its clearly the best of the the lot in term of usability. A very practical everyday bike, capable long distance tourer, and can handle bad roads easily as well, some riders have used it for off-roading as well and were not disappointed. All this while keeping the weight at jst 167 kgs.
So its a truly capable of everything an average Indian road would throw at it! And that's why it deserves to be the bike of the year.

Of course the RE Hunter would probably become BOTY (Bike of the Year) as the RE is a cult brand and has a very strong following. Also, RE really has some very good bikes now. However, what I personally do not prefer is that RE advertises itself as a lifestyle brand rather than a motorcycle company. Being one of the oldest brands in the market also goes hand-in-hand with this strategy. The only drawback being, the issues or problems with the product (no matter how small) are ignored. Basically the bike is not evaluated as a 'motorcycle' for its usage or practicality but more like "Its a ROYAL ENFIELD!".

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2022. Edit: It's the Royal Enfield Hunter 350!

Voted for the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX with the Hunter 350 in a very close second and the new RC390 in a slightly distant third.

The V-Strom 250 SX is Suzuki bringing the proven 250cc single cylinder from the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 that churns out a healthy 26hp and 22nm. It's one of the most versatile bikes on the market that is the perfect blend of reliability, practicality and comfort. 2 of my batchmates in College have V-Strom 250 SX's and both of them absolutely love their Suzuki ADV's. Yes it's not an off road focused as the competing Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure or even the cheaper XPulse 200 4v but look at the bigger V-Strom's, these bikes are not built as off road machines but are rather meant to be comfortable, fuss free tourers that can handle some off roading.

The Hunter 350 lost by only about half a point compared to the V-Strom only because the V-Strom is so damn versatile. Other than that it's a brilliant machine, a modern engine that doesn't vibrate itself to pieces and will happily cruise at triple digit speeds all day for effectively the same price as the soon to be dead UCE Bullet 350.

As for the RC390 the Austrian scalpel just got a whole lot more versatile, if it weren't for the increase in price this would've imo easily tied the Meteor 350 for second.

Voted for the Hunter. Refreshing from RE and a much more efficient motorcycle. It also catersvto a wider group of buyers courtesy the pricing and design.

Is this the toughest BOTY ever?
Not because these are all exceptional but mostly because 90% of this stuff is alien to me and everything is just average. Last year we at least had the stunning, one off Aerox 155.

I chose 411 Scram for no particular reason other than I like their paint job. As a rule I never select import, large cap bikes - leaving them aside this is a mediocrity fest, sorry to say.

I voted for Suzuki VStrom 250 SX.

Reason: Japanese reliability and longevity. I have been waiting for a (not so big) adventure bike and this has answered the prayers.

Phew and wow! Never knew that so many 2WHs were launched in 2022. Being an existing RE owner, I have voted for Hunter 350. This bike is light weight and comes in exciting colour options to suit the masses.

Since, the launch of Hunter, it has been pulling massive footfalls to its showrooms and has got sizeable bookings as well. Considering the fact that RE has become massive 2WH brand in our country, the bike of the year in the ensuing years also shall continue to be held by the RE stable!

Thanks for the BOTY thread, Crazy Driver! I know nothing about the 2-wheeler scene, hence voted purely on looks. If I were ever to buy one from the list, it would be a weekend toy, hence on style alone, I think I'd go with the Jawa 42 Bobber.

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2022. Edit: It's the Royal Enfield Hunter 350!

Royal Enfield has come a long way in terms of quality and reliability of their recent products. Many of my friends have the older models (post 2015) of Electra, Classic and Thunderbirds. Their recent ones are much better, having tried their Hunter 350, have to say, it is comfortable, commuter friendly and has a good vibe to it. Would definitely vote for Hunter 350.

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2022. Edit: It's the Royal Enfield Hunter 350!

Since I can't vote yet, here is my choice - Hunter 350. After reading about this bike online, I went for a test ride to check it out, and oh boy was I impressed. It provides so much fun for the price at which it is sold. I liked it so much that I, who had last owned a bike 11 years ago, went and bought the retro variant which looks quite stunning.

My vote goes for the Suzuki VStrom! It ticks, in my opinion, all the right boxes. It's an eye catching Head Turner, Powerful enough for quick highway rides, Frugal enough to entice regular mile munching and Owning it doesn't dent the Bank account!
And that jewel of an engine!!

My Vote goes to Royal Enfield Hunter 350, It is a retro machine with modern touch. Though I never test rode the bike but I encountered it twice on my way, it sounds and looks amazing.

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2022. Edit: It's the Royal Enfield Hunter 350!

My Vote goes to TVS Ronin. A completely new platform and also a new segment for the company.

Though the styling of the bike has a divided opinion, it looks like TVS has bought out a sensible urban cruiser motorcycle. Maybe if they also provided a touring version of the bike with more power and wide torque band/ Ride modes, TVS could have a product that could challenge the likes of RE hunter.

I would have voted for RE hunter , which isn't a bad bike anyway, but then RE should have given user friendly equipment kit instead of going with parts sharing, maybe that would have made it stand out among the crowd.

Mods, could someone please clarify if Pulsar N160 was launched this year/ last year? I Feel this bike also deserved to be on the list as it had a powerful engine in it's disposal. But new gen pulsars are not appealing like the Original ones. (Sorry for going off topic).
