Can you please share the first service Bill. My dealer, at the time of delivery told me that first service cost will be close to 3000. The difference is huge.

Anyone who have got their first service done in Bangalore can also pitch in about the cost for first service.

For those worried about tube puncture, Formula X is one solution

I had opted for this Formula X on Xpulse and had a puncture where it failed.. Much of the gel leaked out and was a messy affair. I had to change the tube eventually.

I had got this formula X injected at the official dealer in Bangalore and had even bought an extra box thinking i will use it on the interceptor. Never used it there as it failed on Xpulse. Still have that sealed box and anyone wanting to try / experiment, can simply pick up that formula X pack from my house for free.

Thanks for the frank user feedback. I'm guessing the gel hardens everytime air gets filled. Requesting mods to delete my above post

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Anyone has tried aftermarket adjustable brake/clutch levers for the Himalayan 450? I feel the stock levers are a bit too far out for my hands. Looking at search results I think they are not launched yet - all hits I see are for the 411.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

After several months of usage, how is the joystick doing for all the owners? I recently rented out a H450 for couple of days to take for a spin and the joystick wasn't working so great. The right side operation never worked and hence couldn't get the code to connect gmap. Was worried about using the joystick as it looked too flimsy.

Is the joystick all good?

From RB marathahalli? that joy stick was shot. is of no use.
RE could have given more durable and simple 4 way button navigation.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Any one else other than the Google Pixel users facing issues with connecting to the instrument cluster ?

My Samsung S24 Ultra has probably connected 1-2 times out of 40 attempts.

No issue connecting...but unable to update firmware. The app keeps sending notifications about the availability of firmware and yet I can't use that menu option on my S23+

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Anyone here doing DIY chain clean for the Himalayan? Is the good old Diesel/Kerosene/WD 40 ok for cleaning the chain followed by a chain lube?

Also, what would be the recommended distance before cleaning/lubricating assuming its city ride mostly?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

I would recommend a good degreaser like Maxima. Post that, wash the bike, then use a good lube like Motul/Maxima/Puto etc. The duration I maintain is 5000 Kms, but it's not sacrosanct. For example, if it rains, or I ride in mud, or take the bike off road - the first thing I do is inspect the chain and lube if required.

I guess you meant 500 kms?

When you use Putoline, I heard it supposed to last longer than the regular aerosol lubricant, am I right?. Also, let say you're on the road, after 700-800 kms you need to lubricate the chain, can you use the normal lube on top of Putoline or is it advisable to clean the previous lube before changing the lube type?

The only reason I hate taking bike out in the rains is you have to keep the chain clean so very often than when you take it out in sunny weather.
