I’m quoting the same for pre-booking! You’ll be paying close to 3.8L so the taxation bit is confusing.

So it begins!

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Have there been any updates / rumours on when they'll get approvals to start selling the tubeless variant? They had said 3-6 months during the launch event if I'm not mistaken.

Isn't RE returning additional rto amount as discount for folks who booked before dec 31?

I heard they are returning some amount as discount, not sure how much that is.

It's 3 months minimum when I checked with my RE dealer last sunday. If you book online, estimate will show delivery date somewhere in July. In another words you can expect 3 to 4 months as waiting period.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

My experience with the Himalayan 450

Hello, new member here. Greetings to all.

I am riding the motorcycle for more than three months. I purchased the base model Kaza brown last year (pre booked on October and got delivery on December).

I love the bike. I come from Fz25 and Xpulse 2004v and I love the Himalayan most. It fulfills all almost all of my requirements, has ample power for my skill set, rides like a charm, has superb balance and handling, great comfort and gives a big bike feel.

There are many issues with the bike related to engine refinement, fit and finish and other things here and there. The things which I have encountered frequently are:
  1. The weight and my pain in moving the bike in a standstill (I have average height and short legs).
  2. The bike is buzzy with mechanical clatter. It gives character to the bike but is an annoyance too. The longest I have done is 160 Km in a stretch and my hands were feeling a little numb.
  3. The foot pegs are a bit wider and the protrusions on the engine touches parts of lower leg. I also miss the heel plates.
  4. The bike has missed and stopped a few times during starting from a standstill in first gear. Missed once while on the move I was doing around 65 Kmph.
  5. After the fota update the engine check light was on continuously. It corrected itself the next morning when I started the bike.
  6. The bike feels out of gas below 3000 rpm especially below 2500 rpm. There is a throttle lag when I wring the throttle at low rpms

These were my observations. I'll update it when I find something else.

Sorry for any mistakes on my part, please point me to them.

Thanks and cheers.

You got any intimation in email or updates in RE app before dealer called you? For me in RE app still shows Apr 15th as estimated delivery date. Dealer says my booking is next in line for delivery and promised to call me as soon as a Kamet white lands there.

Nope, they have not even given me the extended warranty after taking money for it have been following up since 2 days

All the future prospect buyers do not prefer the Maverick Motors on JC Road, absolute chaos in there and no f given to consumers.

Absolutely no, but the app will show the updated status and then there will be a mail which get shot later.

I have clocked close to 240 km in a day

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review-img_3611-copy.jpg

It's an absolute delight to be excited and be on this and emotions are high to realise the short comings as of now.

However, there are few amazing highs which everyone is screaming about already :
  1. suspension
  2. stance, footprint
  3. handling

The short comings :
  1. gear box was slick, but as the temparature and kms were added not so slick anymore
  2. can hear a metal clatter while down shifting but not consistently
  3. buzzier than I remember the test ride vehicle
  4. front breaks squeak, same as the test ride experience

But not in anyway was I not anticipating the issues mentioned above and the only scary part is the metallic clatter and that hopefully does not spiral up. I can live with a few clangs until and unless the performance is affected.

Many people have reported the lag in the acceleration, but have not able to establish that in all the test rides which I have taken and my own bike as well.

A few pics from the ride! Which was fun to say the least, waiting for the 500 mark for the service and I hope the engine becomes live.

I just checked with a RE showroom in Delhi (opposite DLF Avenue mall) yesterday. The person there initially said "no timeline given by company".
When i persisted asking "at least tell me 2024 mein aayega, or will it spillover into 2025", he replied "2024 mein aayega sir, and MIY ke through you will be able to configure it at the time of booking itself"

Also, he said the RE Him450 aux lights shown in the MIY accessories will be available from the new FY (1st April onwards).
Those too can be selected through MIY, so the bike will be delivered with the aux lights fitted - so no question of warranty violation.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Got 500 KMs service done last week. Total bill came to 1,321.00 for oil, filter. I got mesh radiator guard installed. Got new gloves from RE with knox armour, the ones that I was using from Rynox were 5 years old packed, stored, recovered and put to use.

On Friday night I stepped out for a late night ride only to realise that my rear view mirrors were missing! They were stolen from the bike parked right below my apartment. Went to inline dreams in Kasna and got a sturdy, better mirrors installed. Also the owner was kind enough for me to let me try the prospec windshield extender.

Went for a 350+ KMs ride to Behror today. The Delhi-Jaipur highway is in a royal mess but himalayan felt at home.

Any thoughts on the windshield extender. Does it help reduce wind buffeting on the helmet?
