aviator1101 mate do the modifications one at a time, now that you have already procured both front and rear 19 inch rims try riding with those and experience them before changing it to 18 inch rims. Besides if the high beam itself is out of focus then changing the front rim to 18 inches might not help at all. With regards to disc brake fitting it can be done on both 19 inches and 18 inches rim. I would suggest you to continue with 19 inch front rim and retrofit a disc brake as and when you feel like fitting it. Coming to the high beam query if you don't ride on the highways during night very often then there's no need for a high beam. Besides blinding the oncoming traffic it has no real use in city riding conditions. As I mentioned earlier there are some rudimentary methods to adjust the high beam using various methods. One of the examples I came across:

Example 1: Takeout headlight assembly from head. Remove rubber boot, bulb holder and bulb. Care should be taken not to touch the coated part of the bulb with fingers. Now remove steel clips from the rim which are positioned to hold the beam. There is a yarrow mark on the glass showing the upright position. Put a piece of small plastic along the side of the lower part of the rim in between rim and beam. Position steel clips as it is. (Reference: Royal Enfield Forum)

Trying to post a pic of the Red Bull. Not able to do so due to some network problem. Finally successful. Let know how it looks in its new footwear.

Re: Need Help (deciding Second Hand) RE Bullet Machismo 350 or Electra 5S

Facing an issue with the starting of the bike in the morning hours. Generally it used to start up with 2-3 kicks. But since last one week, it takes 15-20. Also the idling rpm is quite low but increases considerably as the engine warms up. Then I have to screw out the idling adjustment screw to reduce it. Got the tappets adjusted twice but not able to eradicate the problem. Any suggestion or guidance please

aviator1101 mate how's the health of your motorcycle battery? if it is old then get the voltage output checked. Also try to remove and clean the spark plug although I suspect it could be an issue at all. Do you try to use choke while starting it for the first time of the day(if it doesn't start with numerous kicks)? If not then use choke while starting it during first time of the day.

The battery is AMARON maintenance free and only a year old. The spark plug has been cleaned twice. I do use the choke initially but the problems are persistent. What about the idling rpm issue?

I believe your carburettor needs servicing looking at the idling symptoms you've pointed out. Does your throttle cable move freely/spring back to its original position when released. It could be a case of float bowl inside the carburettor getting stuck or the spring throttle valve not moving freely. Ask your mechanic to check for these issues and if possible service the carburettor. Do a battery check as well in terms of voltage produced.

All these checks have already been carried out. The carburetor has been overhauled. Battery voltage checked. Not able to understand what went wrong

Sounds like the tuning is off.

Since you had mentioned the carb is serviced, also check if the fuel filter is clean ,there is no muck blocking the flow and then get the carb tuned. If you are DIY person, use the following link for steps on tuning the carb,

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motorb...-properly.html

It can also be an ignition issue, but then that will also show when riding and not just when starting the bike.

Are you going to the same mech who asked you to cut the front forks to adjust the headlight beam . Just Joking mate. Does the starting problem occur only during first time cold starts or is it the same even after the engine has run for some kms? My suspect was the carburettor based on your posts about you adjusting the carb idler screw. Another suspect I can think of is water inside fuel tank(although unlikely) due to monsoon leading to starting problems.
