that was really the word i was looking for. I nearly fell off the chair laughing reading the way you have put it.

And yes, at the pace at which Bajaj is increasing the capacity of their bikes by 20cc, my grand children will probably get to see P400 or P600!!

they have done it again. made a tiny bike! why oh why? its going to be just as big or small as the xcd the same indicators, engine, tiny silencer and stuff. atleast the headlight is big its very odd looking with a medium sized rider on it.

I think Bajaj is streatching the Pulsar brand a bit too much. I am not even getting into what the new product is - good or bad. A cardinal mistake. A sign of desperation.

My reading - With tie-up with Kawasaki & KTM, they know that moving up too much will not help them too much. I guess they will hit the ceiling with probably a 250cc. The need to move down is to replace Bajaj with Pulsar. Pulsar has got great equity. I guess they intend to milk this in the lower segment. I am not saying if this is a good strategy or bad. But my reading is so.

All The Best - Bajaj. Oops Pulsar.

Is this another "Byk" from Bajaj . While the cars are getting better, where is our two wheeler industry heading on :(

Another 135 ?

Why not a Pulsar 165 ? It would have

- Filled the gap between the 150 and 180
- More power than the 150
- More FE than the 180
- Tight competition to the FZ-16 and RTR 160

The Brand might slowly lose value as the displacement goes down. Let's hope a 250 comes soon.

They're doing this to compete with the CBF STUNNER. Its a real sad attempt by BAJAJ. Looks like so many bike parts from the parts bin which have been put together to come up with this contraption.

The silencer and headlight is FZ-16 inspired.

Disappointing bike overall

Wow! another Pulsar from bajaj lot.It seems that bajaj is trying to create a series like the bigger bike e.g
Honda has CB series
CBR125,CBR150,CBR250,CBR600...
Kawasaki has its own ninja series.
i guess bajaj are working on an effective Pulsar series 150,180,200,220,350. many more to come.

+1 to it.
bajaj is making a serious misatke by downsizing the engine and not-so impressive design. Same what yamaha did when the moved from powerful macho image of RX 100 to Cruz and what not.. Here they are killing the pulsar brand.

Definitely it is not an xcd, it ought to be a new pulsar

this bike is nothing but the xcd sprint 135 shown at the auto expo 2008. though the bike seems same as shown in the expo, there are some changes such as:
1. bigger tank
2. indicators
3. split seats
4. clip-ons
5. minor changes in fairing
6. a newer dts-si engine

look out for the similarities with the xcd sprint in the expo

Pulsar 135...

Where is Bajaj going with this naming fiasco. They are diluting the Pulsar brand. Imagine how will a Pulsar 220 owner who has paid a premium to buy and own his bike will feel when his chaiwala says, arre sir, maine bhi nayi Pulsar le hain...ab main bhi Pulsarain ban gaya.
Very soon we will see people removing the 135 sticker and putting in a Pulsar 150 headlamp and proclaiming it is a 180...
Read my take on the naming fiasco on my blog

HAHAHAHAHAH. That was a brilliant comparison my friend. Its the closest resemblance to the bike. After coming out with the new 220, it seems bajaj has lost track. I dont see this bike helping the Pulsar brand in any way.

This contraption looks awful with the rear mudguard looking so wierd. As someone mentioned earlier, this bike looks crippled. Maybe the concept of the 'old wine in a new bottle' no longer works for Bajaj and hence this ridiculous super-futuristic design ?
