Bajaj deserves HUGE appluads for everything it has done to the Pulsar. Which other manufacture is able to revamp their product line every year.

Bajaj has gone ahead and made engine enhancements, style changes, equipment changes and everything that matters.

Has the Unicorn or Karizma managed anything else other than graphics mods and new fairings (that too recently).

Adding two values is not that easy also ( if not so difficult).
I am a huge fan of the Bajaj attitude towards their Pulsar range of products. And please Bajaj Pulsar is not unreliable. Its just that it would have a 19:20 reliability ratio (Pulsar:Unicorn). Also please check the spare prices of Pulsar and unicorn. Here is where Bajaj scores. As incentives, the equipment level on Pulsars is much higher compared to the rivals.

well the tank is from discover and the rear part including tail lights are from pulsar...it looks like HH Hunk for sure..
I think Bajaj designers are too inspired from the movie 'Transformers' the recent Bajaj commercials and the head fairing of this bike are the reason for the assumption

+1.. It definitely looks like HH Hunk at first look. The bike definitely felt peppy in the short test ride i had at Khivraj when I had gone for servicing my 220. Its very easy to handle but it felt like i have downgraded to a moped Courtesy the heavy P220 i have been riding for the past few months!!

Contrary to the many opinions here, IMO Bajaj has done right thing. Pulsar is more affordable now. Now Bajaj should keep only 135, 180 and 220 in Pulsar.
Also they should discontinue XCD and Platina.
So there should be only Discover and Pulsar. So less confusion for buyers.

I have seen three P135s on road in Hyderabad, and all three were having leaky oil seals. A few of people reported the same in xbhp forum too.

Now that is Bajaj's quality.

XCD has already been discontinued, so now there is only three brand lines Platina (100 & 125) Discover (100 & 135), and Pulsar (135, 150, 180 & 220).

Re: New Bajaj Bike launched - Pulsar 135 LS

Bajaj reduces prices of the Pulsar 135LS by Rs. 4,500

Bajaj Auto has slashed prices of its most affordable bike under the Pulsar range, the Bajaj Pulsar 135LS. The prices have been reduced by around Rs. 4,500, as a result of which, the 135LS is now priced at Rs. 57,494 (ex-showroom Maharashtra).

This price drop of the Pulsar 135LS comes as a result of the rising demand of commuter bikes in the country. The CB Shine is priced at Rs. 59,684, while the Glamour gets a tag of Rs. 55,212. This meant that the Pulsar 135LS would have had a price related disadvantage, as it was earlier priced at Rs. 62,000. But with the aforementioned price drop, the Pulsar 135LS can compete in the same price bracket as that of the Glamour and CB Shine.

The company also introduced a new Cocktail Wine Red shade for the 135LS, which will be priced similar to all other colours on offer.

The Pulsar 135LS comes with a 135 cc single cylinder DTS-i engine, that develops around 13 BHP and a peak torque of 11.4 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

This is a very bad strategy. It would be the first step in unmaking of the upmarket brand that is pulsar. Bajaj has done the same thing to Discover. Bajaj has no proper growth strategy. It has to be seen if V will sustain the initial momentum.

Re: New Bajaj Bike launched - Pulsar 135 LS

I really liked the 135LS. I have ridden it a few times in the city. It was light, nimble/chuckable and very peppy. It was pretty rugged too because 3 of my friends who had this bike never maintained their bikes and yet it never failed. I never bought it because while started on a 100cc(there were no other options then), I moved to a 150cc and then 180cc before giving up biking. I don't know why it failed in the market.

This bike wasn't an upgrade for one moving from 100cc. It looks slim and puny in comparison to the slightly bulkier 150cc offerings. Most people didn't know such a bike existed. They aspired for and bought the 150 instead which has a cult following. Nothing else was acceptable.

IMO, this is very good bike to begin with. It has all the necessary features and priced well.

Agree totally,

The Pulsar 135LS is a great bike.. better than even the Pulsar 150

Dynamically the 135LS is superior to the Pulsar (Classic) 150/180/220.. even the 4 valve engine is eager and happy to rev compared to the engines of the 150/180/220

The Pulsar 135LS only proves that its not always the Best Product that sells the most (Pulsar 150 has been the 150 cc King from over a decade).
